Fellow JC members--Split NooB here looking to do our first split next week (bf/gf couple here). Have been talking with a few folks about slitting tables at Omnia, 1OAK/Light and Hakassan on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights resp. Wondering if I can tap into the collective wisdom of the crowd here and get some tips on split etiquette/rules --e.g. do the parties take care of the $ ahead of time and then just one person pays at the club, if you don't get a good vibe from your fellow split-ers, what do you do. etc etc

Everyone meets at the club a few minutes before you go in. At that point you will all give the agreed upon money to the point person who set up the table and he/she will take care of the bill. That way you are all there in front of the club. No need to pay money before then.

Not sure what you mean about getting a good vibe, are you talking about people taking advantage of you or just not getting along?

Thanks.. very helpful. My comment about 'vibe' was more around 'getting stuck with people you do not get along'... guess that just comes with the territory and you suck it up. Also, my experience with tables has been you almost always bust your mins.. how do you split the excess?

Just think of it as paying for a seat and not making friends. If you like them great, if not no big deal. Night clubs are busy and loud so it won't matter too much.

You can pay the bill up front. Then if everyone wants extra you discuss it and pay accordingly. Just have one person in charge of the bill

All good info from gdale. My experience that has worked is the bill is settled up fairly early in the night with everyone's agreed upon amount. That way if someone wants something additional it is on them. Just let your hostess know that after the initial bill is settled, everyone is basically on their own. That doesn't mean you can't all contribute if another bottle is needed and all will partake. Just also know, it doesn't mean you have to say yes either.

Vodka is the primary choice of drink for most at tables, however, I am a scotch drinker. I tend to cover my bottle of scotch and throw some towards the magnum of vodka so I help cover any "talent's" drink that end up at our table. Hope this helps and have an awesome time!
