So I am taking my first solo trip to Vegas. I've booked my flight and am staying at Luxor. I've been to Vegas numerous times but every other time was with a group of people. The Luxor was mainly a price tag decision as I wanted to stay somewhere around PH or Cosmo but didn't want the total crap hole like Quad.

My main thing during the days is pretty much play poker. I would like to hit up a pool party (if the weather permits those to happen) I've seen them in pictures and they look like an amazing time. Night time is going to be about the drunken "degen" gambling and whatever else I come up with during the days.

This time I'd also like to deal through a host. I've always been stuck in line waiting (except once when a group of us was thrown out mistakenly and the club guys were nice enough to walk us back in) I'd like to experience not waiting in line and possibly even bottle service but that will be determined once I'm there

Anyone else around for that time?

Did you try Priceline or Hotwire for 5-star hotel center strip. Usually is Vdara or Aria. May be worth a try if you even input the same price for the bid that you are already planning to pay at Luxor. Those dates are midweek, so you should be able to get decent rates.

I booked flight and hotel as a package via travelocity. I've stayed in the higher end casinos (much easier to pay for when its a group) but I decided to save myself about $150 by staying at luxor with this package. I mainly did this because I would rather have that extra $150 to go out and enjoy myself. I often times contemplate not even getting a room on the strip because I'm hardly ever in it.

It's not a huge deal for me to walk from casino to casino during the daytime and if i go out at night a quick cab won't be too much trouble.
