We are three lads (aged 25) travelling 12 hours on a plane all the way from sunny England to see what Vegas is all about on the 10th Aug - 17th. We're especially looking forward to the nightclubs and pool parties!

Chuck, I know us Brits like a drink but don't try and kill the poor guy off on his first trip!

Hey guys, sounds like a great trip! I'll be in town from Aug 9-20 (insanely long time I know, but its for a mix of work and play) so if you fancy grabbing a beer or going out with us, let me know. I'll be with a few friends and we expect to be partying pretty hard.

Nightlife is of course more than covered here, so I'll leave that alone. Some other things you might want to keep in mind/consider:

-You get free drinks when you gamble. I find that the Bellagio is the best for free drinks. It is also the best casino IMO (friendly dealers, other fun gamblers, classy atmosphere, reasonable minimums)- at least for blackjack, craps and roulette, which are what I play.

-You generally cannot get more than one free drink at a time, but you can order a double (i.e. double jack and coke). At nicer places like the Bellagio, you can also request specific types of alcohol. And the nicer you are to your cocktail waitre$$, you stand a better chance at getting what you order. This leads to my next point- tipping...

-Tip cocktail waitresses a dollar per drink, but after the first round tip her an additional 5-10 dollars between the three of you. You can pay in chips. It'll keep her coming back. I also like to make friends with the taxi attendants of my hotel. Tip them 5-7 bucks and they'll be more than happy to have you skip the 30 minute line. This is especially nice when its 115 degrees outside (or a cool 90 at night). The last thing you want is to be sweating on your way to a nice dinner or the club. The taxi guys will remember you, especially if you make a little banter.

-Ditto for your dealer. You are allowed to ask the dealer for advice on games like blackjack and they can tell you what your best move is. Tip them a few bucks after they help you, and every once in a while (especially if you win a big hand) throw them a 5. It'll make the whole gambling experience a lot more pleasurable when you have a dealer that likes you.

-Vegas has some pretty amazing restaurants. Not sure how much you guys plan on getting into the Vegas decadence and luxury, but feel free to let me know if you want some tips for the best restaurants. I'm in the wine business and I know a lot of good places with the occasional hookup

-Given that you guys are Brits, I'm guessing you can drink like champs. Head over to Todd English Pub in Crystals Shopping Center, right on the border with the Aria Hotel, and if you chug a pint in 7 seconds or less, its free. Its a nice way to get a few free pints.
