  • Super Moderator Features on the Forums

I know we are talking about features on the site, but I also have a few things that are very common requests which I receive often from forum members/ hosts.
    • Changing forum names. (Ie. I know several hosts have left their current venues, and need to change their name)
    • Resend the account activation email ( New members for some reason can't find their activation emails, it would be nice if theres a way we can resend or manually activate someone)

Mods let me know if you guys can think of a few other things that can help us run the forums better.

Have it so that the report function just messages the mods rather than creates a new thread, like every other forum does.

Royale: Thanks for creating this additional thread, we can use all of the feedback we can get during this development stage!

        Keep it coming....

There will definitely be lots of major changes to the forums as the site expands since they are integrated into everything. Spam control is definitely on our to do list. As I understand what was discussed into tonight's development meeting, the forum portion of the site will be expanding globally with subsections for each major country and city that the site expands into.

Another cool feature is that all threads will automatically give you the option to turn them into "chat mode," where it automatically refreshes everytime someone adds something...rather than you having to refresh it.

The launch timeline is 4 months from now, but it is likely that forum features will be upgraded sooner.

Any chance that there could be a notice for duplicate/redundant (heh) posts? Seems like people post up stuff without search or reading through if someone already posted the same question or item. A tad annoying.

In my experience, the only remedy for this problem is user education :/

We need to force people to watch this video before posting. lol

Just thinking about the spam problem should the expanded sites take off and how that would ramp up the spam on the forums... Will there be greater controls on this?

larger PM boxes for industry workers. Its difficult when you get a high volume of messages to delete the old ones because you want to remember what the members requests are. Another feature may be to have them kick out to our email. Im not sure if this is already a feature. I know when i get a pm it tells me in email format, but to reply i still need to go to the website.
