Airport taxis

I was reading online that airport taxi drivers tend to take a longer route to/from airports, and the best way to ensure this doesn't happen is to insist that they 'don't take the freeway.'

I just wanted to verify this was the correct route for going to the Luxor, and if there's anything else I should say to ensure I'm not ripped off.
