    So everyone,

Im heading to AC in the near future with a group of guys.

Now - i know nothing about this place. Whats the deal with the best clubs? Any pool parties in May? I dont know what the deal is with weather there or anything, but do they run?

Also - whats the liveliest hotel we should stay at?

    Cheers!

also to help you understand AC-
Nevada was 1st with gambling and AC was 2nd in the late 70s
      now NYC has www.rwnewyork.com
and Philly has a couple of casinos
Foxwoods/Moeghan Sun in CT and some are going to get built in Mass.

For example you can get a bus from Philly to AC for $15 roundtrip- $7.50 each way

Your going to find the Atlantic City experience...different. It's definitely NOTHING like Vegas. I agree the most Vegas like clubs are both HQ and mur mur. They are located in the two newest hotels in AC. Revel is located on what equates to the "strip" of AC, while the Borgat is further away. Both clubs can be a good time, I would do HQ on thurs-Sat and Mur Mur has industry nights on Monday I believe. Both hotels are nice in terms of decor etc. but neither are lively. Hotels in AC are ridiculously cheap, and because those two are considered expensive you'll find the scene dead especially Revel during non party days. It's more than Half empty at almost all times occupancy wise. Check out Caesars for a more lively hotel. Hope that helps.

I go to AC a lot. My advice is just stay at the Borgata and play there the whole time. They have two clubs and either one or both will be open Friday through Monday night. I've always had a blast at the Borgata. Literally some of the best nightclub nights of my life. Something about it just feels right but you need to stay there. Don't try staying in some cheap place and driving. It will ruin your weekend. If you do go somewhere else, the Revel is the place. HQ is good on a Friday or Saturday. EVERYWHERE else will be a disappointment. Trust me. All the other casinos feel like the worst casinos in Las Vegas with the major problem being you can't walk to any good ones near by.

Oh and the Borgata doesnt have pool parties but their Waterclub (attached 2nd property) has the best pool in AC. Its like a pool party without the admission cost if you are staying at the Waterclub.

Can't disagree with what SH suggests other than to say that if you do stay at the Borgata it is not within walking distance of any other Casino. Caesar's and Ballys are litereally across the street from one another and conncted by a sky bridge and yes Revel is farther down from those Casinos. Revel is the nicest and newest hotel in AC but again the place is literally going bankrupt because no one stays there so other than party nights it is dead. If your looking for best overall experience and don't mind staying in one spot agree with staying at the Borgata. I am sure you will be driving up so that's probablly not an issue. In any event what you will also notice almost immediately is that other than the area immediately around what equates to the strip, Atlantic City is very much in decline. It's pretty much a hood a few blocks away from the main Casino areas.

Yeah I do municipal bond raises, and the investmet bank ii work for had them as a client so spent alot of time in the past 2 years or so in AC specifically trying to help Revel and the state of NJ (which subsidized some of the building) try to figure out how to get out of the hole. Obviously couldn't be done. Shame because it really is the nicest thing to hit AC in years but they completely misread the land scape. In Vegas this property would attract business without trying, in AC people view it as an extravagance and a place to party...

I hit up AC 6-7 times a year, 2-3 times in the summer
Revel has a good pool party for AC. Really all depends though about the DJ if you want a good vibe...it will get crowded saturday but not nuts. When it's a good local jersey/NYC dj like Richie Santana the place can get insane nuts(espech if he is having a throwback party) Ir really all depends on the promoters throwing the party(Richie has a good team behind him) or if a big name world wide DJ is playing....after saying all that it is hard for me to get excited the last 2 summers I went after going to Vegas the last two Aprils during "Grand opening Pool party" at places like MDC,EB and Wet for DJs like Kaskade, CH, DG and even the EC Twins. Still a good party though for AC

At night everybody else hit it, though The Pool at Harrahs can be a good time depending.....

Has anybody been to the pool after dark? Thinking about hitting it on a saturday. We are doing HQ nightclub on friday, so we need another option for saturday. What would you recommend?

I have been to the pool after dark a bunch of times was just there this past weekend. I will say that HQ is a much more Vegas type club with better DJ's and a better crowd. The pool after dark is just okay (put it like this Pauly D the dude from Jersey Shore is typically the DJ on Saturdays), it used to be a pretty good time as for a while it was one of the few options in AC period. Now, the pool after dark kind of hangs on from it's reputation and things have kind of gone down hill. If you have never been before check it out, it's worth a stop in though as at the very least it WILL be crowded and sometimes has a good crowd. However if you enjoy HQ just do it again Saturday as its as close to a Vegas experience in AC as you will get.
