To get rid of the spammer from your news feed ->

Click the name of the spambot -> go to profile -> On left click Ignore this user

No more blown up news feed.

Win.

Also, if you use the "What's New" Tab, you can filter it by Forum and it hides all the spam discussion/group topics. The filter button is on the right.

If you have to ask how much it costs, you probably can't afford it! That being said, it's Vegas and doesn't hurt to try!
