Mardi Gras New Orleans

Hey guys,

I'm planning on going there for the first time this year. Any recommendation on where to stay, what to do, which party to go to? I don't know anything about Mardi Gras and what to expect.

Stayed at a friend's house twice for it. Bourbon Street is ridiculous and packed. If you haven't booked already get to it as it's quite a big deal down there.
