  • MDW overrated?

I've been Mdw and Ldw and in my opinion every club is beyond packed, all prices are jacked up, and I feel like in a way its amateur hour... Not even trying to sound negative I hope anyone that went/is going is having a blast but I don't know that's my thought...

Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

Meh, I'll be there over LDW. Crowds, no crowds - makes no difference if you have a table
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

Huge difference between MDW and LDW.

But to the OP, I wouldn't say its overrated, because it definitely lives up to the hype, I just prefer not to pay a premium, and fight the crowds. As I get older, I just see more value on non-holiday weekends.

And it's not like non-holiday weekends/weekdays Vegas is a ghost town

As I get older is right...but I've only done July 4th as my blow out holiday...maybe I'll replace it with LDW and have the same fun with a little jump in prices w/o going overboard as MDW would be.

Done both and it seems like it's just an overpriced weekend. For me the best time to go is the first week in October since gambling has been my thing. MLB playoffs, football galore and the weather has been pretty nice to add in a few rounds of golf. We'll see if my mindset will be the same after the upcoming trip July 11-18 and doing pool parties for the first time.
