  • Hangovers... How to back it up the next night

    Hey all.

Interested to hear from the JC forumites, who party pretty hard, how to cope with the day after. Now considering there will be drinking from approx 11pm to around 4am (sometimes longer)... interested to know what works for dealing with the after effects and then be able to go for round 2 the next night!

If you search this forum there are specific recipes and suggestions for Pedialyte, I just don't know if you take it before or after a rough night of drinking.

I find that doing cardio for 30 minutes gives me energy to drink hard both at a day party and later that night...I convince myself that I'm sweating out the poisons.

      Water + pedialyte + pepto + vitamins + advil
EastCoast: "I will preach. Vegas is easy. So easy. Either be rich or good looking (or mooch off someone who is one of those). If you are neither, then sit back, let the rich and/or good looking people sort their shit out, and then take their scraps. Booking early is not going to get you ahead of the rich and/or good looking people. Sucks unless you are rich or good looking. But that's what makes Vegas so great. It is completely transparent."

You guys need to buy something down here we call Berocca. Its vitamin B effervescent tablet. Its awesome... I plan to bring that along with Milk Thistle, Hangover Tablets and I will buy some pedialite from the walgreens

Pedialyte is your friend. Anything that does similar in rehydrating is what you need, just stuff that replaces the salts and a shit load of water. Take painkillers if you got a headache and if you feel sick - youre not gonna beat that. Its simply rehydration.

Berocca is just a vitamin supplement - its doing nothing to help a hangover. Its gives you silly amounts of vitamins but that has nothing that will assist hangover. It might in your head - but thats about it!

Forcing yourself to eat is probably the best (certainly for anything over 3 nights in a row). Alcohol plays havoc with blood sugar levels so a few fruit smoothies to try and stop the peaks and troughs helps with energy levels I've found.

I always make sure I eat something and drink pedialyte before passing out. In the morning I am always up early so I try to get to a place that has fresh fruit and plenty of chocolate milk.

"Vacation" hangovers are always different than "back at home" hangovers... Not really sure why, but I just talk myself into sucking it up, drinking some water, and reminding myself that I'm on vacation and paid a lot of money, now go have fun... I learned this at a young age from spring breaks and it's carried over to my late 20's...

This doctor in Vegas specializes in hangovers and has his own service. This is the link to his website and tells you exactly what he uses. All over the counter stuff primarily. Other notes and remedies in the webpage. Hope it helps.

My friends and I swear by this stuff.
It's Prickly Pear Cactus/Nopal Cactus, and it works. My mom takes it for her diabetes and high blood pressure.
I've used the extract by taking a few ounces and I usually just take a few ounces from her and pour it into an empty water bottle.
If you are planning to go hard I say plan ahead and get some. If not, there are some drinks out there with Prickly Pear/Nopal in them. It works wonders.
If it wasn't for Aztec Nopal I would have missed a lot of flights.

I rely on Gatorade (low cal), Advil, and more alcohol when I wake up hungover.

To prevent hangovers I avoid mixed drinks with high sugar content since it's just going to dehydrate you even more. Also add in water and gatorade periodically through the day and night.

Also if you never sleep it's hard to get hungover
