    In your opinion, is Gran Canyon worth the drive?

    Hi Guys,

    I am visiting with 8 friends in May and being from the UK feel I should do a visit to the Grand Canyon.

    Only problem is I get REALLY travel sick so I'm wondering if it's going to be worth it?

    Will I regret not going? How long is the journey?

    It takes me hours to get over the sickness so I don't want to get back to the hotel and not feel well enough to go out (we're only there 7 days and I don't want to miss a single moments clubbing!!!)

    It's spectacular and I would recommend it. Maybe do a helicopter tour / airplane flyover instead? Quicker (but more expensive) and may not have the same effect as driving?

      I went when I was much younger, but if you're not doing a full tour and just driving to see it for a few hours, ehhh I'd skip it. It's really beautiful and quite awe-inspiring but honestly, you will see more of it in a documentary than in person. If you're not doing a full experience actually going in to the canyon, it might be more trouble than it is worth given your situation. You just stand near it and look around, and it is breath taking but it's not terribly immersive unless you do the expedition in to the canyon IMO.

      Heli rides might be your best bet, you can see it from multiple angles and not spend hours traveling.

        Especially if you're there for a week, you should go see the grand canyon. From memory, a heli tour is about 40 mins flying time to get out there. Not cheap, but well worth it.
