What's up everyone, I hope everyone is having a good time on this mid-September, and you all are doing well. I was searching the interwebs, and I realize there is not one thread on here about dancing (except the "Group of Guys Dancing Together" thread).

Anyways, my last Vegas trip I saw a fair amount of dancing, but then again, there were those folks who made a choice not to and listen to the blaring music sipping whatever they were drinking and looking around. Perhaps they don't know how to dance, perhaps they are too cool for dancing, or maybe, just maybe, they do not know the new dance moves in our ever growing popular culture.

Here are a few videos on how to just get out there and own that dance floor.

How to Dance in a Club

    Unconventional Dance Moves

    Hitch Dance Lesson

    Uncoventional Dance Moves 2

PSY teaches Britney how to do the Gangnam Style

These are just to start off. If you find some more dance vids for all of us to learn from, please share. I'm know I'm going to be dancing like this when I find myself in a club and most importantly, in Vegas.

Thanks everyone, and let's get to dancing.

I dance like an idiot...always have...always will...but I enjoy it anyway. I'll give these a look and see if I can butcher some new moves in a couple weeks.
Like all great travelers, I've seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.

My dancing skills are the main reason I need to get a table.

The way I see it is. There are different purposes for different people at the club.

        1. Drink and drink with friends to get drunk.... music, DJ doesnt really matter.
        2. Drink and socialize with other people, guys try to find girls, etc. DJ doesnt really matter, just the type of genre that is tolerable.
        3. DJ matters since they follow that particular genre and are there to experience the music and dance to it.
        4. Theyre there to do "roll" while listening to their specific DJ they are there for. So you'll see groups of people, guys on their own, guys with other guys, etc. Just dancing to the music.

Thats why for most people in the club, I dont think its necessary to be on the dancefloor. Theyre not really there to dance. Alot are there to drink and chill at their table. So it doesnt matter if its in the patio like at XS and Marquee. But for some, theyre there to experience the lights, the music, and the interaction with the DJ, so its critical for them to be on the dancefloor and be where its happening.

          1 and 2 for me.

I also dance like an idiot. I don't know how to dance to EDM and for hip-hop I either do my 2-step while mouthing the lyrics or do the kanye shoulder dance - if I'm extra hype

Or poorly do the dance to a song that has a dance like The Dougie or the Cat Daddy

            Mine is #1 and dancing.

That's a good point WT661, and thanks for this perspective. I didn't realize there was another side to why people go to the club in Vegas.

Over here in the Bay Area, when we go to the club, we're out on the floor doin the damn thing and dancin our hearts out. But still, it would be nice for everyone to at least show off some moves.

            Thanks again.

I always go to dance and listen to music. I don't care if I am not even doing the moves right as long as I am having a great time. For me it weeds out the ladies. Either they will like my dance moves or at least find humor in how bad they are and join me in dancing or completely ignore me. The best times I have had at clubs I was not only at the club with friends but the people around us were great people. They had the same personality type of just having fun not caring if dance moves are bad.
              Clubs I have visited:

              Lavo
              Pure

More to come in the future(Hopefully!)

I do it all but if I'm not dancing that's probably because I'm sweating harder than a pedophile at his first boy scouts meeting and I hate being hot. Maybe I'm too self conscious but I can't stand having sweat marks all over my shirt.

I've had nights clubbing where I just sat by our table or the bar and just chatted with people, that itself is fun because you can find some interesting conversations.

People don't NEED to dance and as long as you're having a good time it's ok. Only thing that bothers me is when I see a group of girls definitely not having a good time and they're all on their phones tweeting, checking creepbook or texting.

Oh don't worry I'll drink it. But you better know that when I do, we about to get buck!

Totally right about interesting conversations! I agree when people are absorbed into their phones and not having fun. One time a chick at a table next to mine was all absorbed while her friends were out having fun. Ended up striking a conversation and we talked the remainder of the night. I was nervous at first, thought she might be the sour puss of the the bunch but it went great.

^ to me its just an opportunity to catch their attention and try to talk to them. Most often if theyre on their phones, theyre bored and havent gotten in the groove of all the fun. I get like that when the music sucks and I feel I have to preoccupy myself with either walking around or occasionally looking at my phone and texting with others. LOL.

Haha exactly! I like to be the reason that the girls end up having a goodnight. But you do run into the occasional party poopers who really don't care into having a good night, more like they were dragged out.

1 and 2 for us here, with the dancing part we tend to go a little nuts, anyone have any issues with security if they start jumping around? or do they not really care in Vegas?
