  • NYC - Post Vegas: Advice?

Heading to Vegas with 14 guys for a Bachelor Party between 23-27 August, I was then supposed to be flying to Orlando to stay with a friend for a weeks recovery before flying back to the Middle East. Now due to my friends work commitments I'll be in NYC until 03 Sept, this obviously would include LDW.

My friend will be working for about 1 1/2hrs everyday in the morning so will be free for the rest of the day but beacuase of this won't be able to drink so the likelihood of us hitting many bars/clubs is minimal. With this being the case can anyone give me any advice on what we could do.

I've seen that both the Giants and Yankees have home games while I'm in Town and even though I don't understand any US sport with the exception of Basketball was thinking about seeing what the atmosphere was like. I've been to NYC about 3 times before but due to excessive drinking haven't done any of the typical tourist stuff yet. Is there anything I should definitely not miss before leaving?

Central Park really is awesome. I really love Bryant park. On Fridays they have piano and accoridans playing around lunch time. I have two words for you: drunk brunch. On Saturday and Sunday there are a lot of places that offer unlimited drinks with purchase of an entree or you can add it on. The Sunburnt Calf (Upper West Side) or The Sunburnt Cow (East Village) are really good. You can go to the beach. Coney Island is really cheesy and a little trashy, but I hear Rockaway Beach is really nice. Walking towards Manhattan over the Brookyln Bridge is pretty. Battery Park is gorgeous at sunset and there are great views of the Staute of Liberty. You can go to the top of the Empire State building for views of the city. I had friends that did that when they came to visit, but I think a rooftop bar would be a better use of time. I've been living in NYC for 3 months, and my favorite thing to do is walk around and people watch. It's fun to just wander around a new neighborhood.

Thanks Katie, I think we may definitely take advantage of drunk brunch. Is there any rooftop bars you could recommend?

Let me know if you fancy catch playing tour guide to a couple of Englishmen!

I haven't really been to any rooftop bars this summer. They're really strict on IDs, and I'll be turning 21 next week. I have heard good things about Print (it has a really good looking dinner menu if you want to do dinner then drinks), Le Bain (it's apart of the Standard hotel) and Ink48. They all have great views. Drinks are New York prices and as always, dress to impress. Because I haven't been there, definitely check out their website or a review site like Yelp just to make sure you like the atmosphere, ect. I would love to play host, but unfortunately I'm moving back to Georgia to finish up school. I plan on being back in NYC next year, so if you make a return trip, definitely!

The Boom Boom Room is also at The Standard. Probably the toughest door in NYC.
