Best Hotel in Chicago for Bachelor Party

Helping to plan my brother's bachelor party. We already conquered Vegas for my older brother's bachelor party and Scottsdale for my bachelor party, so we are giving Chicago a try.

Heading out Friday morning for Cubs/Cardinals game Friday afternoon. Friday night, Saturday daytime and Saturday night are all TBD as of now.

I would appreciate any hotel recommendations that would put us in the middle of the action and/or would cater to a partying crowd. FWIW--I don't know Chicago that well, as I have only been there once to party. Thanks

There are a ton of great spots in Chicago to stay, but for what you're looking for I'd say the top three would be

1. theWit
2. Hard Rock
3. W Lakeshore

There is a sizable gap between theWit and second place so I would heavily recommend theWit but wanted to,give you some options as well.

+1 on theWit, especially if you're going during the summer. ROOFtop is a good scene on a warm Chicago night.

Ironically, the one time I went to Chicago we ended up at the Roof at theWit. I didn't even realize it was the same hotel until I looked it up online yesterday. That place is very nice...reminds me of the W in Scottsdale. Thanks for the recommendation.

I like The James hotel as well. It's pretty center Mag Mile and has a great bar as well.

I'll second the James hotel, very nice, central location. I have a connect there if you need it. Anther option is the Embassy Suites on State street. It's your average Embassy Suites but it's in the midst of a bunch of bars and may work better for putting a few guys in one room.

As others have said, I like the W lakeshore. Avoid anything in the loop on the weekend. As with anything it depends on your budget. The Park Hyatt is a great location and a great hotel, but its big $$$. The Peninsula is a great location just down the road, but its even more $$$$. Avoid the Westins, they aren't that nice. The Hyatt Regency is huge and has giant bar. There are a lot of good choices depending what you're after.

Plan to take the subway to Wrigley, get there early and hit the atmosphere around the stadium, tho pace yourself as starting early before an afternoon game can end a lot of big plans on Friday night.

They have Angels & Kings which isn't the greatest lounge/club in Chicago, but a good place to start out. +1 on avoiding the Loop on the weekends, it's mostly a business area and is relatively dead. All the good bars/clubs/restaurants are in River North. Check out Public too.
