I completely agree with dnix. There are multiple avenues on this site to get vetted contacts, contacts recommended by members, and to vent any frustrations about any hosts that someone has used.

I'd rather one person miss out on an occasional deal than one hundred people end up going to terrible club because of high pressure sales from a host trying to mine for customers.

Deals are still posted by memebers. Right now Pure and RPM have deals going on and are posted. Im personally not sure why people would prefer to get info from a host vs a consumer. I never ask a car salemans how much I should pay for a car. I think the biggest mistake members make is thinking if a host post on this forum they can be trusted.
        hey hey!

Yeah, I wasn't particularly enthused about the new rules either; seeing tables deals/offers happen in public was useful both to see what was possible and to live vicariously through them while not in Vegas. I understand that there were some "hosts" especially independents that were becoming a pain, but it does really feel like the baby out with the bathwater.
Fordan: Appreciate the input on this one. We are working on a couple of different options that can achieve the same thing without ruining the freedom on member-to-member discussion within the forums.

The problem wasn't only the independent hosts, but that every question asked by a new member was immediately spammed by multiple hosts, and then backed up by a handful of members who had benefited from comped bottles or hookups from them, even if it meant endorsing an otherwise less than par nightclub as "the best place ever." When we had less traffic, it wasn't as big of an issue. Now it is.

Members are still free to offer legitimate recommendations of hosts that they have used, and to tell stories of how much they paid, deals offered, etc. The line is crossed when it becomes obvious and regular solicitation on someone else's behalf, no matter the post.

Additionally, as always, there are always FREE direct listings of hosts and guest list contacts for every major nightclub in Las Vegas located on the main site. An estimated 4% of tables sold in most Las Vegas nightclubs are through the list we provide, which is a substantial volume that helps with "buying power" when people say they are through the site. This isn't something always achieved when hosts of every stature are offering "hookups" and promising things they can't deliver, which was happening.
I would say that # should be a bit higher...

Just so everyone knows, ANY host will put you on their guestlist, and there more than happy to do it. Ive always been under the impression industry people have a quota for things like that or at the very least its helps advance their position. Hence, why the G/L thread was started in the first place.

I thought G/L were typically girls or at least even ratio groups? If I'm wrong than I'm happy to have been educated and will be texting hosts more often! (When I'm in Vegas for fun I'm usually solo since my friends aren't huge Vegas fans.)

And I also don't want my earlier comments to make it sound like I'm horribly upset about the change. I was somewhat worried when it was first announced, but most of my initial fears were unfounded. I think the discussion would be a little more interesting with the hosts still able to discuss their products, but this is still an incredibly useful site.

Its depends on the venue and which night. Each club has different rules

                  see above

The host can still discuss their products when asked, they just cant solicit or spam. We still have host posting on here.

I dunno about anybody else but I've been swamped at work since after hAllODween with no sign of slowing. Work is where I do the majority of my forum posting.

One thing I know, the closer it gets to Summer and pool parties, this place will start to rev up and you won't be able to keep up with all the new posts!
