  • Getting the most drinks out a game

I wonder where I can get out the most drinks while playing. Did play slots on my last 2 visits. Almost impossible to get a drink there. I made better experience at black jack tables but what would you say is the best game in terms of money bet against drinks

I know it also depends on the minimum bet, but game-wise what do you think?
    Black-Jack? Craps?

    thanks

I totally agree that drink service at slots is abysmal compared to table games.

I've heard pretty much the only way to get good service from cocktail waitresses on slots is to find an updated casino that has drink service ordering from the slot machines themselves. I'm pretty sure you can find them at the Venetian or Palazzo.

From my experience craps and roulette typically have really good drink service. I think it has to do with the fact that you have a decent number of players per table so servers like to go to a table and get 5+ people drinks instead of wandering through the slot floor. Also table players seem to tip larger amounts. I've actually found that the minimum bet doesn't matter as much as having a somewhat full table, I've had some of the quickest drink service when betting $5-10 minimums at lower end casinos.

The best advice I've had though has to be to ask for your next drink when you receive your drink. Just a simple "Can I get another whiskey and coke when you are coming back around?" along with a $2 or more tip on your first drink usually goes a long way.

+1 to the above. All good comments.

In particular, when you're playing craps, it's hard to keep up with the waitresses coming around. As maxutilsperusd said, one visit nets 5-10 drink orders. And depending on the craps table, you can stay there for a while without that great a fear of losing a bunch. If you play nothing but pass line, you're looking at a fairly low-variance way to stay at a table for a while.

I have said this before, but if your goal is to drink while not risking a ton of money, learn to play Pai Gow poker. It's an extremely easy game to learn and you push with the dealer over 50% of the time. Its mixed in with the blackjack tables, so drink service is usually pretty quick.

I was a cocktail waitress for a year when I was 21. Best way to see us often was to give us a good tip! We had large areas to cover... On top of serving drinks, we had to pick up all the glasses people left around. If you give a waitress a good tip, she'll make sure she walks by you again or like maxutilsperusd said, when you get a drink ask for another one next round. But tip more than $2.

If I am just looking to drink, then I'll play roulette on a full table. The games go by slower and the large groups of people attract the waitresses.

Betting wise, I find that betting quads is the best way to kill time. 5 quads would cover more then half the board and its a good way to just kill time with minimal risk.

Ohhh and make sure you tip and be friendly. Always a must!

If you just want free drinks, saddle up at a bar with video poker. They usually make sure you have at least $1 bet per hand, then will comp your drinks. Bartender is always there, so drinks come as fast as you can drink them. When I was young, we'd make $20 last at least 10 or so drinks. Of course, tip at least $1 per drink and it's still a great bang for your buck.

If you want real gaming actions while drinking, I concur with dice. It's an easy hit for waitresses given you usually have a pretty full table, making their job easier to cover lots of ground quickly.

Craps is the fastest service IMO.

For best bang for your buck, grab a $20 or $40 poker tournament at a place like Linq, Harrah's, etc. I made a $20 entry fee last 3 hours and 9 drinks.

Tables all the way. But for slots, find one close to a drink station or waitress door, get her attention, and TIP well right from the start! I've said this before, but I get the drunkest at the MGM playing the old Sigma Derby horse machine (it takes actual quarters!). When it has a good crowd around it, it fits all the criteria. The Linq has waitresses using iPads for orders, and other waitresses a few minutes behind filling those orders! That was impressive technology, the iPad communicating the order to the back

I ask for a waitress. When she arrives I ask her how long is she working this area.
Tip her $20 straight up. Order and ask her to keep em coming every 5-10 mins depending on how easily they are going down.
Every drink after the first i usually throw her $1-2
But if Im up a fair bit ill chuck her $5 plus...
If im up a stack....$25 chips can fly around.

After that Im wasted lost everything and curse my life run to the ATM and start all over again...

This. Plus then you can get free shots too. I pretty much always start off my day or night by sitting at the bar playing video poker for an hour or two and getting tons of drinks.

If you want to be fed drinks and not risk a ton of money do the following:

Craps - semi busy table.... Lets say the min is $10.

$10 on passline, $10 on don't pass line.... that means on the come out roll you break even unless its a 12, which is rare.
Once the point is set you're past the part with the house edge, so now you can just bet odds on the pass or don't pass.... I generally play the darkside.

So an example of a run for me at a table:
                              * Bet $10 pass / $10 don't pass
                              * Roll to set point is a 7, lose the don't pass, win on the pass... I'm even, repeat bet.
                              * Roll to set point is a 10. I lay odds on the don't pass, we'll say $40 (to win $20 based on odds) .... now wait for 10 or 7. Since a "7" has six possible combo's to hit and the "10" only has three combos to hit, that is why it is bet $40 to win $20, where as the passline is bet $20 to win $40.

.... basically you hedge against yourself on the come out roll by betting both lines, then after that its 0% house edge as long as you just bet your odds. Hard to win a lot, hard to lose a lot... easy to sit for hours and shovel down drinks.

Other option would be grab a buddy and go to roulette. Each put in $100 and agree to even back up at the end... you bet red, have him bet black. A green may come, think of that as a "tax" for sitting and getting free booze. When you're good and drunk, color up and even out the chips. Odds are if you have $150, they'll have $50.... unless its a green night.
