  • Slot Tournaments?

Have any of you ever been in one of these before? The casino sent me a thing for 3 free nights and free entry into one for August. I guess there's 3 rounds and they're 15 minute rounds throughout the 3 days. How does it work, do they just give everyone the same amount of credits and whoever accumulates the most points within the 15 minutes wins the $5000 each round? Thinking I might try it out because it said there's only 200 participants and it's free anyways so might head down there for it.

Can't really think of a good reason not to do it if that's all there is to it. I've seen them before but never asked to participate

Yeah seems like easy money and even if you got the bottom prizes you get $30 free play per round, so I'd at least end up with $100 free play because I think it said it had 10-500 dollars worth of registration free slot play. After looking it up some after I wrote this it seems like they give gifts at some of the invitation only slot tournaments too at other casinos, free alcohol, and food during the awards thing and during the actual slot tourney. I'll have to ask some friends if they want to head down there that weekend when I'm visiting parents this weekend. Seems like you don't have actual credit to play but it's just button smashing for the amount of time playing trying to get the most points and they randomly pick you to play at a certain slot per round.

What tournament invite did you get? If you know anyone else going I'd suggest playing as a team. Better chance of taking something home.

My dad's cousin does this with about 6 to 10 people. They get invited to the same tournaments and split the winnings based on who wins and who stays in the longest. She pulls 6-figures a year doing this. I just wish I had invites to her tournaments, lol.
        2013 Trips:
        2/11-2/12 @ MGM Grand
        4/17-4/19 @ Mirage
6/20-6/24 EDC @ Cosmo, MGM Signature, & Flamingo
        7/21-7/23 @ MGM Grand
        8/12-8/15 @ Encore

It was to some shark week slot tourney at TI for August 15-17. I don't think I'll be doing it though and I'm probably going to Vegas in October, but dang that's impressive pulling 6 figures doing those.

Honestly, I never had the chance to join slot tournaments. Hopefully this year, I've got to have the chance to participate. I love free slot plays anyway.

I've gotten invited to a couple at MGM, a couple at NYNY and a couple at Treasure Island, but never took them up on it.

Those have all had a free room included as well, but when I get promo offers that aren't slot tournaments they always include free rooms along with food and drink credits, freeplay and free show tickets, so basically it's like I'd be trading all the other free stuff for an entry into the tournament (which would be awesome if I ended up winning something big, but I've just never taken the chance so far.)
