Jadefire has it correct. I've also been to casinos that will allow you to add to your pass line bet so you can increase your odds. Say you play a $10 pass line bet and the point set is a 6. You can increase your pass line bet by $5 making it a $15 bet so your max odds could be $45 if you are in a 3x4x5x game.

At the casinos I go to in CT the craps tables are all 5x odds.
    Past Trips:
    2013 - May 8-12th Staying @ MGM (Bank|Wet Republic|Hakkasan|XS)
    2010 - May 10-14th - Stayed @ Luxor (LAX|Moon|Haze)

Dammmmmnnnn 100x? Why doesnt everyone go there and just put $100 bucks down when your point is 6 or 8?

When we used to play there I never did 100x, but it was nice putting a few bucks on pass/come and then throwing 20 or so on for odds.

My systems that I have been practicing on my ipad seems to work and I am going to roll with it in Vegas next weekend:

          Start with $200-$250

          Pass line bet: $10
Back up Pass Line: 4x if point is 6 or 8, 2X any other point
Two $10 come bets each point. Take odds on each come bet if new point is established.
Press odds 1 unit if same number is rolled more than once within a point.

          Point hit, repeat.

In the repeat phase I noticed that if there was only 1 or 2 spots without odds on them to just fill in 1 unit.

          Wish me luck!

that sounds like a good system MikeG3714 id find some $5 tables if ya can and put $5 on pass, i find out more and more every trip that come bets are CRUCIAL so thats a solid plan with the $10 come bet #1 for getting another number to lay odds on and increase payouts vs placing the number and #2 for offsetting potential losses when that unholy number comes up! craps is all about money management

I use "Craps Lite" which is free

I used one of the pay ones but it was annoying because it did not lay correct odds on 6 and 8, it just let you put whatever you wanted. At least with craps lite when you take odds on 6 and 8 they are in multiples of 6.

The Come bet is all about offsetting that potential loss.

Exactly, over time you can usually get to that magical moment when you have odds on every number on the box and you can get in 5-6 rolls before it all gets taken away. Net loss and gains my friends.

What's everyones thoughts on playing the "Don't Come" I've played it on occasion when the tables are absolute shit, i.e., the dice whippers or multiple 7 outs

If you can deal with all the dirty looks, you can make a good chunk of change on a cold table

I'll occasionally play the DC. I like it better than the DP because sometimes the other players may not notice what you're doing if you're quiet about it. Also I don't feel like I'm rooting against the shooter as much would be if I played the DP. Last time I played a couple large DC bets kept me alive on a mediocre table.

My usual system that works pretty well at keeping you even .... small ups and downs, but great for drinks and killing time

                                Assume $5/min bet

                                * Lay $5 on the pass line and $5 on the Don't Pass line (.... you're now going WTF.... and that's okay).
Doing this means that on almost and number of the come out roll you don't win or lose. 2/3/7/11 - break even. 4/5/6/8/9/10 the game goes on. You will lose $5 if a 12 hits one the come out roll, but that's only got a 2.7% chance.

Assume the point is set a 4
                                * You could do nothing and just break even, but the deals will grow to dislike this.

                                * You're past the come out roll and now you're down to 0% house edge... I usually play the dark side here on 4/5/9/10. So on a4 I would lay like $40 on the Don't Pass line (to win $20) and then hope for the 7. You can also drop a few $$$ on the 4-hard-way (2-2) to hedge yourself (the 4-hard-way is 7-1 odds). Lets say in this case you lay $6 on the 4-hard-way.

                                What can happen next

                                - Shooter Rolls a 7 --> You lose your pass line $5, but win $5 on your original don't pass $5. You win $20 on your $40 don't pass odds bet ... you're up $20. You lose $6 on your hard way bet ... you net $14

                                - Shooter rolls a 2-2 hard way 4 --> You win your pass line $5, you lose your don't pass $5 + $40. You win your hard way 4 bet for $42... you net $2

                                - Shooter rolls a 1-3 --> You lose $46

.... Keep in mind on a 4/10 the odds of rolling a sever are 2x greater than the 4/10. Hence the bet 2 to win 1 (reversed on the pass line odds bet.... you bet 1 to win 2).

I've only walked away down doing this twice, and that was because I tipped out the dealers... its a great way to have fun and float up/down while getting fed drinks.
