Staying here for the first time this weekend. Have never gambled here, don't even know if I've even been in the hotel/casino before.

How is the gambling there?

My favorite high end spots to gamble at are WynnCore and Venetian/Palazzo and favorite mid level spot is TI.

Not really trying to make the trip down to the other end of the strip just to gamble. If I don't like MC's casino what other close by ones should I consider?

I like gambling at MC. If you like a swankier casino head over to Aria. Its connected to MC via a few escalators.

there's a tram that'll take you from monte carlo to bellagio also nearby those escalators.
I like gambling there, it's not too busy during the day and it's mid-level so don't need to be a CEO to play at a table there.

i definitely want to know about your stay too...I have it booked for my July 4th trip (they had a killer 72 hr sale)
So I just want to be sure its a good landing spot for my 4th of July Annual Chaos....

the last time i was there the casino was a bit dead esp if youre used to wynn and sands properties. there wasn't anything wrong with it but it just lacked energy compared to some of the other casinos on the strip. the casino caters to a different demographic than the wynn or venetian so the crowd may look and feel different to you. again nothing wrong with the casino or the players just a different feel. having said that this was several years ago so im sure theyve made a ton of improvements to the gambling floor. at the time the salon only had a few tables open at a time so if u play slightly higher limits service will be top notch.

How was the sportsbook? Walked by it last trip and wasnt overly impressed with it.

Stayed there last MDW and had a blast while also stopping in during my trip in October for some laid back gambling. Really relaxed atmosphere and the wait staff is spot on when it comes to keeping the drinks flowing. Rooms are very simple but definitely do the job. The group I go with is more laid back and my fiance and her girlfriends loved the pool there MDW due to the lazy river and they had a foam party that Saturday of MDW with dj's, etc. Sorry not a pool expert at all and if they're happy and the boys can go gamble with nobody looking over the shoulder, it's all good.

Definitely hit the Pub. Outstanding happy hour specials, $1 wings and sliders, and has an outdoor area alongside the pool area.

You can get pretty cool deals on Minus 5 there which is also I believe at MGM but a few bucks less at MC. We also like the lounge right next to where Minus 5 is. DJ at night with 1 or 2 go go dancers on the catwalk stage behind him. EDC primarily with mash ups. Prices are very affordable and is always a good pre game before going out and dropping the dough on the bottles.
