MLIFE Comps question

Went to Aria in July with a 24k bankroll. Played 12 hrs straight with an average bet of 600 on blackjack 1st night. 2nd night my average bets were 400 and played about 5 hrs straight.

I haven't been back to Vegas since July and I haven't received any comps from MLIFE at all. Anyone know what I am doing wrong to get comps? It was the first time I signed up for there players card, could that be a reason why?

I called a host at the Aria and he told me the best they can do is give me casino rate at 50% lol.

I think its because I'm a table games player versus a slot player. From what I've been reading it seems like the slot players are getting all the comps and table players get almost nothing these days.

When you mentioned you're a table player, yeah you're right. Most of my friends are table game players (a lot of poker). They get relatively squat for poker. It seems like even if they play for days, all they get comped is food. Even friends that play blackjack don't get much.

My parents (who play a lot of slots), however, get TONS of offers. They're getting comped for their upcoming weekend at PH and they haven't been to Vegas in more than a year. They were even offered their own casino host. Go figure.

To be fair, poker isn't really considered a "table game", at least not in the same category as the house-banked games (blackjack, craps, roulette, etc.); the casinos make very little from poker tables, and since the comps they're giving you are effectively a percentage back of what you're expected to lose to the casino, there's just not much room there.

That being said, 12 hours at $600 and 5 hours at $400 should at least get you something. The only two things I can think of are 1) mLife being a corporate marketing beast, there can be a pretty significant lag between your play and offers reflecting it, and 2) MGM considers Aria to be their highest-tier resort, so you're getting fewer offers than you would elsewhere.

When you say you didn't get any comps, are you talking about after-the-fact offers, or comps on your most recent stay? If the latter, then I'm pretty surprised, considering my 8-10 hours at $100 craps (which isn't much for Bellagio) still got a couple hundred dollars taken off the bill at the end of my last stay there.

Yeah if you're looking for comped room offers you gotta play slots. My wife and I don't gamble anywhere near that much and currently have free room offers from Monte Carlo and Mirage, and I think 1 free night from Aria. Aria is by far the tightest with giving free rooms though...they probably don't really need to. That place is always packed when I've been there.

I wouldn't go that far; Mirage and Mandalay Bay offer me comp nights all the time, and I play craps and blackjack almost exclusively. It's usually only a free night or two at a time, and I have a feeling my bankroll might generate more comps if I was sitting at a slot machine, but I certainly don't feel like I get nothing from table games.

Yeah I didn't intend to make it sound like you can't get comped rooms playing tables....but it did come off that way. Aria is def tight with the room comps though. Drop $1k in slots at the right property and you'll have comp room offers in no time. Only thing I'm not sure of is how much my resort spend helps. Normally it probably doesn't help much, but I'm guessing when they see big resort spends it helps get a room comp.

It's my understanding that resort spend is pretty negligible for comps, which sort of makes sense; if you've shown that you're willing to drop a ton on room and food charges, then it's not like they have much motivation to comp those things.

The tier benefits are great, though. The one disappointment of my last trip was going to Bellagio for brunch and having there be no line at all. I was really looking forward to waving my card around and waltzing right in. And to add insult to injury, when I left the line looked like it was well over an hour long.

whatever host ure dealing with is absolute garbage. ure amount of action at the very very least would entitle you to comped rooms at the best hotels on the strip. to be honest you could probably charge everything to your room and settle up at the the end of ure trip. most hosts will say this is what i can comp u based on ure past history of play. yes slots get comped better and of all the table games black jack is probably one of the worst comped games but in ure case that doesnt matter. ure action will get u most everything u need.

the only thing that might help you will be to open a credit line. this will assure u service from the casino because at that point ure pretty much business partners. u shouldnt have to do that but it will help. a large marker doesnt mean shit if u dont gamble it so if ure true bankroll is 24k and the casino knows it, it wont make a difference.

if this is ure typical level of gambling i would laugh at that host and take ure business elsewhere. im certain the wynn would love to have u. even the venetian whos known for the worst comps on the strip will treat u better. if u prefer mgm properties just speak to someone else.

Agree with clientele, change casino host or change to CP. I was Diamond 3 years ago from playing BJ and still get free rooms.

that makes no sense. with that kind of action i would expect you to get skysuites comp'd. like others have said, change your host. that kind of action not only should get you comped rooms at ANY place on the strip, but you shouldve had SOMETHING comped on your last stay.

if you do go back there (dont blame you if you dont), get a new host, drop by and say hi to him/her when you get there, and see them before you leave.

how many tier credits do you have? what level mlife are you?

heck, i played 2 hours of blackjack at monte carlo last month, betting between $10 and $50 per hand and ive already received comp offers for 2, 3 and 4 night stays.

Pit boss/dealers werent doing their job either in my opinion. Somebody should have contacted a host and said maybe you should take a look at this player

24k for a couple nights is way above an average bankroll. But you need to get the casino's attention, and sometimes you need to do more than just whip out a wad of cash. It's Vegas, everyone has a wad of cash. You definitely should have talked to a host when you got there. You also should have tried chatting up the pit boss while you were gambling, or at the very least, your dealers. The better rapport you have with the employees, the better they're going to want to treat you.. Calling people by their names goes a long way. If they're still cold to you, with that kind of bankrool, and after you've attempted to be friendly, take your money elsewhere.
