Down time gamblin' 9/2 - 9/9

Got a week in Vegas starting on 9/2 and ending 9/9. While I'm not making awesome bad life decisions that week I may be spending some decent time in various casinos, stickin' mostly to table games. Having NEVER played in a casino before, if there's anyone that may wanna sit at a table or 12 with a noob that has done some decent research on how to conduct himself without lookin' like a complete idiot, PM me and lemme know. I know for sure I'll be interested in Black Jack. Ideally I'd like to spend some time at Black Jack, Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow, and Baccarat. Just wanna have some fun with the games, win or lose

i think youll be fine for the most part unless you are playing at a high limit table. for black jack basic strategy is key and consistency is also expected. more so for higher limit tables. baccarat can get a bit stressful depending on the money being spent. some of the ppl that play baccarat can be really random with their bets and get a little sketched out by new comers to their tables - esp big bacc. craps is the funnest to play in a crowd and as long as you are making simple bets you should be okay. ppl are gonna start yelling out all the different bets and it can feel a little overwhelming.

if you are really nervous hit an empty table with your friends and just ask the dealer question. they dont mind. just tell them whats up. i think they even have live training sessions for games in the early mornings.

Hmm...what's considered a high limit table for black jack? I've been learning basic strategy and my money management plan is VERY consistent, I'm just hoping for some fun peeps to play with.

it depends on the property but for the most part i would say the lower level of high limit would be $100 a hand. $100 is usually the lowest limit in the salon/baccarat room area of most hotels.

I will be at the Hard Rock Sept 2 - 5. I play a lot of blackjack and so do my friends. I can give pointers even though you will probably still loose.

Good luck to you Red, hope you win some money! But just have fun and enjoy the experience. I'm sure Matt and the table dealers can give you some good advice. Oh and most importantly, don't gamble with money you can't afford to lose. I've seen it happen and let's just say it's not pretty lol

I've always found Wild Bill's a good place to learn table games. It's the "dive" of casinos on the strip, but they'll have $5 tables and I've always noticed dealers willing to give advice. Most people that go there to play aren't serious gamblers so if you make a mistake they aren't going to act like you ruined their night.

And if anyone does act like you ruined their night tell them to eat a bag of....
