BJ and Baccarat are the best odds in the house. IF you play BJ perfectly you can get the house edge down to about 1%. Problem is VERY FEW people know how to play perfectly, and actually stick with the strategy. Take away perfect strategy and the house edge climbs quickly.

The Banker bet in Baccarat has 1.06% advantage to the house...that's why at most tables they take a 5% commission on winning hands when you bet the Banker. Betting the player only has 1.24% house edge. I found a table at Monte Carlo one night that had no commission and cleaned house. The nice thing about Baccarat is you can't screw it up. Seriously, just take a coin, pick a side for Banker and the other for Player, and flip it for each hand. Purists will disagree with me, but you really can win doing this.

Passline on craps is about 1.4%...so pretty close to BJ and Baccarat. I think it's better than BJ for the reason listed above. You can't screw it up.

I generally play the minimum on the pass line, back it up with odds, then play 6,8,9 depending on the point.
Every once in a while I'll throw out a hard 4 or something, but rarely. Usually just stack odds on the 6,8,9 and
hope for a nice long roll.

Yeah that's pretty similiar to the way I play. If I am on a roll I will bet things I shouldn't like hardways, but that is part of the fun about playing craps.

Depending on the exact rules for the blackjack table and whether you are playing perfect basic strategy, blackjack house edge could be less than 0.5%, where the best crap bets have a house edge about 1.3-1.4%.

House edge doesn't tell the whole story, what most people really want is expected loss per hour. This depends on the amount bet (which you can control) and the rate of play (which you can't). At an empty BJ table you could have so many more bets per hour than on a full craps table that you'd end up with the same loss to house edge.

Good point there...Craps (usually) does have a slower rate of play in regards to how long one bet is in play. And you can multiple payouts on the same bet so that's pretty attractive.

This has to be the truest statement ever. If you're not ready to play at a really fast pace avoid nearly empty tables. Even slower paced games like pai gow will start to increase your losses per hour when there are only a couple people at the table. (not that I've ever seen even close to an empty pai gow table)

Not only that but there are plenty of people who sit as an anchor and expect you to play for the table but then only play for themselves. I've met the friendliest and most helpful people playing craps while the rudest and biggest dicks playing blackjack. I'm just mad at the guy who taught me how to hop in craps...GO BIG OR GO HOME!

I completely agree. I've really never met a real dick playing craps...just the occasional guy who's on a cold streak and in a bad mood. Blackjack is a completely different story. I've read several books on the subject and stick to the strategy, which as many of you know, can look backwards or wrong to the average player (ie splitting 9s vs 2-6, 8-9) and I've had guys give me the dirtiest looks and actually yet at me because they think I'm in the wrong. On the other side of that, there's been players who know the game praising me for being aggressive with that 18. It really depends on the table. And I don't know the complete truth behind this, but I've read that in the long run, it really doesn't matter if players around you misplay their hands...it'll all come out the same in the end. Albeit this really screws with table moral and your short-term bankroll.

I don't usually play craps, but in Jan for my bach party all the guys wanted to - so why not. At the IP, this dealer (is that what you call them?) was a total DICK. 1/2 the table were his friends i'd assume, or just overly drunk guys that were tipping crazy, and buying a ton of bets for the house. Since I dont know all those crazy plays they were calling - it was easy to see they weren't winning any money - because anything they'd win were being played for the house.

The other 1/2 was us. 10-15min in...this dealer starts making comments about how we dont tip. I think only 1 of us was up at that time, with the rest of us reaching for more cash at least once. If I was up, or even hit a few points -I wouldn't of mind the comment. but if the house didn't even put any cash towards me - it got a few of us pissed. But since one from our group was having fun, we decided to stay. It gets worse later because we played something called a fire bet?!? We were pretty drunk and just told to put a buck there. And we already hit 4 points ($25) and about even (wasn't going to tip that punk). We hit our 5th and then the pit boss comes over to verify on camera all the points and that dealer was like NO NO, they only hit 4. I was like wtf?!? you already paid us on 4th earlier, and the points are clearly marked. The pit boss goes, if he says you only hit 4 (before the guys on the phone finish confirming)...i'm like review the cam again! We got paid obviously - but man that guy was an ass

If the dealer makes one comment about a tip I will walk away. Once I was on an incredible heater playing Blackjack. I mean a sick heater. Honestly winning at least 4 out 5 hands for an hour. I never tipped throughout it. Keep in mind I always do and I am totally aware of the art of tipping a dealer. But for some reason I decided to throw her a nice tip when I was coloring up. While I was coloring up the person to my left says "nice run". Then the dealer chimed in with "could have been if he knew to tip". I said honey you just cost yourself a hundo and I walked away.

I dont have an answer why I did not tip throughout, but I think it was superstitions.

Roulettes very easy and one of my favorites. you can bet numbers (like the lotto), play coloms of numbers, rows of numbers, odd or even, high or low, or black and red. plus dealers are there to help with what ever game you play, they feel that they win when you win, so they're happy to help.

That's awesome that you got a 5 hit fire bet, for all of the hours I have accumulated playing craps...I have yet to even see a 3 hit but I've been at tables where a roller will go on for 45min straight. As for the dealer you should've just left. There's no reason to stay and not enjoy the game if you're getting badgered about having to tip, sounds like they had a rough night.
