Casino Host Question

Since moving to Scottsdale last year I have been going to vegas once or twice a month. Staying at the Cosmo and have given close to six figures in action to them and have a 35k credit line i have used portions of each trip. I have a host but its always a hassle and i am not getting much more than the room comped. I am new to vegas. Opinions on what i am getting is standard? I am thinking of going to bellagio or wynn but not sure how to approach them. Thoughts? Tx

Thats crazy. Every other casino on the strip would treat you better comps. If its bothering you, then it sounds like its time to change casinos.

Most places don't start getting into average daily theoretical loss until you hit +$100k on your line of credit, so it's possible you're betting big but not giving enough action.

On the other hand, Cosmo is not designed to really entertain gamblers, you should really consider changing hotels.

I think your best bet is at the Bellagio. I can recommend a host if you're interested.

Thanx for the comments. Looking for a hotel with balconies or terraces..dont know if bellagio has that. I am interested in a referral to a host. rick - imo ure host needs to step up his game. cosmo isnt known for gaming but at the same time because u actually play while staying at the cosmo they should value ure action even more. a comped room for ure level of play and the games u are playing sounds pretty weak. how many hours do u play a day? what is ure average bet?

Time to move...I'm a pearl mlife member and dont give anything close to your action and get comped room offers. 75k in high limit slot action should get more attention imo.

Its been known that Cosmo casino hosts are lagging on taking care of their customers. It sucks because I know alot of people want to play there.
I'm Plat at Mlife and the hosts there give you the time of day even though the bankroll isnt as high as yours. I'd still play at Cosmo, but check out Bellagio and other Mlife casino props to play at.

Total Rewards would likely be a better choice for you than Cosmo ... as much as I love Cosmo it's not very rewarding for gamblers.

Oh, and to answer your question, this is simple...pick the program you want to transfer to...say Total Rewards or whatever. Figure out what hotel you want to stay at. Call that hotel and ask to speak to a Casino Host. Explain your situation and level of spend. Ask for a preliminary comp and host ... take it from there.

I am a low roller at the cosmo. I get 3 free nights and a little free slot play. My host is very nice and always responds to my emails. I think its all about the host. Also ask for what you want and don't wait for answers. Say Mr./Mrs/Ms Host. I am coming in this weekend and I would like a wrap around suite. I also have been offered X free play by other casinos what can you do. At your level of play everything is comped anyways correct?

you can get a host at any level of play. whether they pay attention to you will usually depend on the property and where you fall on their client list. a younger host maybe more willing to work with you as opposed to a senior host who deals with bigger players. the main thing to realize with any host is nothing is ever free. if they comp you up front they are expecting a certain level of play. if you don't reach that level of play it can sour the relationship or even worse you can have a big bill for what you thought was comped.

At around $100/hand for 4hrs/day you start to be able to get a host to deal with, though obviously at the Bellagio and Wynn it's a little higher.

In general a host has very little room in terms of what they can do for you and as the various loyalty card systems improve this will be reduced even further. Even if a host offers to comp a limo for you it comes out of your comps that could've been applied towards your room / food. There's no such thing as a free meal.

Because one host can't do much more for you than another host, customer service becomes paramount. Gold Tier (assuming Mlife) is pretty decent and probably bordlerine for a host. But honestly I'm sure if you ask the worst they can say is no, and I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted to take you on. Just know that it won't make too much of a difference in terms of your overall comps

Thanks for the replies. I know my play isn't anywhere close to garner any big comps. It would be nice to form a relationship with a host now though as my play has been steadily increasing the past couple years. Especially with my new love....Baccarat. I'd look at it as having just another friendly contact in Vegas that will be there when that day comes I need a little favor or a little something extra special.

Hey! I too stay and play at the Cosmo and have had free room comps, boxing tickets and tournaments. (VIA email) I have not been given a host ever and am looking to stay there again this summer and want to try to get hooked up. Any help here would be much appreciated.
