  • $5 blackjack tables?

Do any of the downtown casinos still have $5 blackjack tables during the day? Am looking for a place that a few beginners in our group can sit down at a table and make their $100 last at least 10 or 15 minutes.

Where are the cheapest blackjack tables on the strip?

    Thanks!

Isn't the Sahara closed? My buddy told me that OShea's still has $5 BJ. Guessing those are tough tables to get a seat at.

You'll still find a lot of $5 BJ tables during non peak hours. But definitely check out O'Shea's if you're staying closer to it. It's usually where I take newbies to learn and you can't beat learning on a $3 table.

Don't have to go down town, but yeah, they do have $5 BJ.

Several places on the strip will have $5 BJ during the day, too.. off peak.

What you have to watch for is the damn 6:5 payout BJ crap that is pervasive along the strip these days. It's a crap game & harder to make money, over all.
The payout *may* be better downtown, may still be able to get 3:2.

Yeah....not a fan of the 6:5. Not that I ever get lucky enough to hit a BJ, but it's nice to see those around me getting paid 3:2!

I kind of forgot about Oshea's...that's always a good place to find cheap tables.

Its the payout on a Blackjack - standard is 3:2, some places/tables change that to 6:5

From a practical standpoint - if you bet $10 and get a blackjack

                    3:2 payout = $15
                    6:5 payout = $12

Overall what it does is raise the house 'edge' by lowering the extra $$ they pay if you hit a blackjack.

TI used to do $5 blackjack during the day & raise it at night, not sure if that's still the case. For payouts generally single & double deck is 6:5 where if you do the 6-8 deck tables they'll pay 3:2.

A group of 18 of us stayed at Hooters Hotel & Casino (across from MGM, just off The Strip) May 2011. More or less every table in there was $5 including Blackjack. Also had a good deal on the poker at the time. $100 for losing with AA, $200 losing with FH, $300 for losing with 4 of kind. Also the rewards point on the Hooters Card was pretty good.
