  • Current Sports Book Drink Rules

I land in Vegas in a week and will be there for the 2nd round of the NFL playoffs - Hoping to catch the Packers game and get stupid drunk.... anyone know if Bellagio is still free drinks no matter the size of your bet? It use to be and it was AWESOME....

otherwise last year I know we just sat at the outdoor bar at the Flamingo and got $1 Leines taps which was great .

Any sports books with unlimited free drinks with a bet of under $100?

    Thanks!!

I am also wondering about the same thing cause my group will be staying at the Bellagio and using their sports book to place our bets

Either way I'll give it a go when I'm there and can post up my results.

If it is the same as last year, any bet big or small got you free drinks... and my buddy watching with me didn't have any bets out and still got free drinks @ the Bellagio sports book.... hopefully things haven't changed

My experience has been spotty when trying to make bets and get comp drinks.

At Ceaser's a few years back a $3 kino bet would yield a drink ticket. My last trip, a $50 MLB bet wasn't enough.

At Mirage I made $20 in horse bets and got 4 tickets (within the last year). She initally gave me 2, but their were 4 of us and I asked her how much more to wager to get 2 more. She just gave me 2 more and I tipped her a few bucks.

Margins on NFL, NCAA, MLB, etc. bets are so small for casinos they usually don't give a ticket unless you bet is in the hundreds. Horses however make them much more money. They get kickbacks from the tracks and get to keep a piece of the handle. Races are going off all over the country all the time, plus a horse race lasts 2 minutes and all the bets are paid off within 10 minutes. Horse players get taken care of because they bet a lot and are always betting.

Report back and let us know how it went. I'd add a couple $2 horse bets when making your Playoff bets. Go Pack!

I've sat in the Treasure Island sports book more times than I can count betting nothing and getting ridiculous drunk.

Another awesome route I've found is play Video Poker at the bar at the Mandalay Bay sportsbook. As long as you're betting at least a dollar per hand (and tipping) you will keep getting drinks.

Btw, Mandalay Bay stopped giving out drink tickets for regular size bets forever ago.

Forgot to add, this has also worked well at Planet Hollywood.

If you guys check out the articles that Bill Barnwell does over at www.grantland.com (which is Bill Simmon's offshoot site from ESPN Page 2), Barnwell himself moved out to Vegas and does reviews of the more popular sports books - - he also details exactly what gets a drink ticket.

You guys are right on when you mention more drink tickets for Horse Bets at lower prices, and that's what I've experienced as well.

                Check out a few reviews:

                Caesars - http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-tr...caesars-palace

                Wynn - http://www.grantland.com/blog/the-tr...eview-the-wynn

There's more, just gotta look around the site.

It's probably different during playoffs, but I've been in the Bellagio sports books and had a waitress bring us drinks for several hours without anyone actually making a bet. We tipped her more up-front then kept tipping for each round. A couple of us did bet right before we left.
