Can anyone recommend a good place to go to get into a cheap poker tournament that is good for beginner players and won't empty my wallet? Also when would be the best time to go there as well?

Just beware that most low level tourneys (less than $100) will have short stacks and quick levels. After the fourth level or so, it will turn into an all-in fest.
