Would staying at the Luxor worth my trip?????

Just wanted to know people's opinions on the hotel... I usually stay at PH and the Rio when I travel with family but this time I'm going with a group of friends and I think that they're starting to lean more towards Luxor, but I want to stay at the MGM... Anyone else have experience staying at the pyramid???

I think the luxor is kind of beat right now. Well actually medium. I feel that MGM has great restaurants the rooms are pretty typical unless you step it up to a suite. I like the palms personally, and the venetian. I also really like downtown and the golden nugget isn't too bad.

If you stay at the luxor you have to ask to stay in the pyramid they call them atrium rooms. Other wise you'll be in the towers. Newer rooms, but not as cool.

Luxor is actually alright. The rooms are pretty average and its close enough to Mandalay Bay (which has good food). Its also very reasonably priced.

It has LAX which is half decent during the weekends.

Its certainly not the best hotel on the strip, but at the same time there is nothing wrong with it.

I personally do not think the elevators in the Pyramid are drunk person friendly. They only go to certain floors so if you get on the wrong one it might not go to your floor. If you are as inhebriated as you damn well should be in Vegas getting to your room is quite the challenge. Or maybe my drunk self has a bad sense of direction.

Luxor is not the hotel it used to be. The hotel, atmosphere and everything feels a lot more rundown and not your average 4 star hotel. I'd stay at MGM, or Tropicana before I'd stay at Luxor.

you get what you pay for. luxor is fine and they went through rennovation of their lobby and restaurants to de-theme it and make it more trendy.

i prefer mgm and stayed there at least 10 times. the location is ideal and i also use the monorail to get up and down the strip. they have a solid restaurant selection also.
