  • 23 years old couple in vegas - please help

    Hello,
my and my girlfriend are getting to vegas this october. the dates we will be staying are 17-24 october (7 nights).

we want to taste a bit of all in vegas - clubs, restuarnts , shows and any other idea you might.

i'd be glad if you could point me out to where and when and any other suggestions that will make our trip the best!

by the way - if you could also help us to chose hotels it will be great, i posted a thread about the hotels in the relevant forum:

I am 23 and my fiance' is 22...so far so good.

As far as where to stay, we've always gone with a group and usually stay 7 nights as well. The Jockey Club (between Cosmo and Bellagio) has been a solid choice. 2 Bedrooms (3-4 beds), 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen (awesome for longer stays - and full fridge for keeping booze cold).... I know they have smaller units and are CHEAP. Could be an option and roll the savings over to an awesome room somewhere else.
... from your list on the other thread, I would say PHo... I've always liked it, lots of food options, good casino, I just like it.

It may think it sounds crazy, but even with 7-days having a loose plan will help you get a lot lot lot more done. If you just wing it, there is a ton of time spend asking "What should we do?!" which usually kills 1-2 hours and adds walking.

Usually touristy stuff - fountain show, MGM Lions, volcano, etc etc

I would do some clubs, not really my scene for the most part (rest of the group and girl love them though) but I still have a great time.
Sometimes renting a car works out to being cheaper than cabs/shuttle would be and gives you the freedom to check out things like the hoover dam, fremont street, or whatever else.

I've never seen a show in Vegas, figured I'll have plenty of time to see them when I'm older.

If you dig 80's hair metal at all, Steel Panther plays weekly at Mandalay Bay - they are AWESOME.

... also for sure check out www.restaurant.com (HURRY TODAY IS LAST DAY OF SALE) .... they sell gift certificates really cheap through the website - e.i. $50 food for $20 or something like that, and if you buy any today use "HOT" in the promo box @ checkout...
    yesterday I got:
    $25.00 Aromi d'Italia
    $25.00 Fresh Grill and Bar
    $25.00 GameWorks
    $75.00 Pampas Churrascaria
    $25.00 Tacos and Tequila
    worth of food for $19.

in october you can walk everywhere bc its not as hot!!! but i really like the restaurant.com idea!!! also check out groupon and stuff bc they have deals too!! Yall should check out downtown and do the zipline, go see the lions at mgm, maybe go to that wax museum and go to a loungy more intimate club like cathouse, blush, lavo or just go bar hopping have fun

and as far as hotels since its just the two of you why dont you book through hotwire and just do a 4 star or 5 star hotel then you cant go wrong right?

Walking distance from Center (Lets say Bally's) --- Everything considered center/south strip.

Between the free trams and the fact you guys are young - nothing is out of reach. I can think of a few times we've gone from IP up to fashion show mall, down to MB, back to IP.... it was long but plenty do-able

I'm old and frail, and had no problem walking form the Hilton Grand Vacation condos all the way to the Luxor and halfway back. And we only called a cab at that point because we were hammered. Y'all will do just fine. The restaurants.com deal nicholas mentioned is a KILLER deal, I'm taking advantage of it over Halloween/SEMA. I've seen the Amazing Jonathan and PEnn and Teller, and would highly recommend Penn and Teller if that your type of thing.

Definitely go eat at Circus Circus steakhouse if you are in the mood for a classic steakhouse...I had my doubts but after going and having a fantastic meal that all changed. It is also easier on the wallet!

Have fun! October is one of the best times to be in Vegas...

I started going to Vegas with my girl at this age (about 5 years ago).

Your hotel wont matter all that much for your first trip. You'll spend all your time out on the strip taking in the sites. That being said, try and get something with a decent location. I like TI, its reasonably priced, has good rooms and a great location.

For a week, you need to take in a few clubs/lounges. Marquee is the it spot right now, check that out. Id suggest on a Monday. Tao has been going strong for awhile and is a good party on Thursday. As for the weekend, you are fine with just about any major club. I would also strongly suggest checking out Ghostbar and Voodoo.

As for food, you will likely eat alot in your hotel. TI has Phils Italian Steakhouse, which is suprisingly quite good and well priced. There are a ton of different restaurants and the majority of them are great. Bills gambling Hall also has a decent steakhouse, its well priced and has that "old" vegas feel to it.

Make sure you spend atleast one night wandering the strip with oversized drinks in hand (everybody has done this atleast once) check out the fountains, volcano and pirates (all free).
