  • Free Shows at Rio and Treasure Island

Are the freebies at the Rio and Treasure Island worth checking out at all? I'm referring to Show in the Sky at Rio and Sirens of Treasure Island. I'm assuming they're kind of cheesy, but are they at least somewhat fun? Do I want to see them only if I just happen to be there at that time? Thanks for any input.

They are both totally cheesy, that being said you have to see them at least once, it is part of the Vegas experience. I have seen them many times so I am way over it. They TI show is outside so you should be able to see it while your check checking out the strip. The show at the Rio i would only check out if you are going there for some other reason.

I totally agree with Babydoll. We stay at the Rio whenever we go out to Vegas, and the show actually gets annoying after a while. The Pirate show at TI is neat to see. There are several other free shows like the Bellagio fountains, Some cheesy show at Caesars with fire (something about Poseidon or some such, don't remember as I was pretty tanked at the time), the volcano at Mirage etc. You can also check out stuff nearby, like the Hoover dam and the Carroll Shelby museum.

the shows are only good the first time youre in vegas... almost when youre still in that honeymoon phase where youre in awe of all the lights and attractions. after a while...as Babydoll stated, it gets cheesy and you usually just walk right by it.

I say skip the Rio show and check out the bellagio fountains instead. I've been to Vegas dozens of times and still love those Fountains.

neither show is worth planning around, but both are worth a 5 minute wait if you're nearby.

If you are standing right there, with the perfect view, Bellagio Fountains is the best of all 3.

That said, I like to check it ALL out.

IMHO, the auto collection, neon boneyard, fremont street experience, even old fort vegas, have all been worth the time (although for some you need a car).

If you're partying at rio.....check it out, and the same goes for if you're on fremont east or near the fountains. the patio at lavo was a great place to watch the sirens at ti ;-)
