Just wondering what everyone is using and if you like it...

I currently do not own a single one (straight cash FTW) but figure it might be time to get one with the amount of traveling I've been doing for work.

    What I would like:
    *Nice rewards/kickbacks
    *No annual fee
*Usable almost everywhere (no diner's club BS)

... assuming things go to plan, I will NEVER carry a balance so the interest rate doesn't matter. Just looking for a solid card I can cash in rewards - cash back, travel (vegas trips!), or something other bonus points.

    Thanks!

American Express! Great rewards and customer service for anything and everything which can especially come in handy in Vegas for getting charged ridiculous tip or who knows what... I guess the only downside is apparently not all places accept it but I've yet to personally encounter one.

I have really solid credit from bank loans, store specific cards, and company credit card (can't use fun stuff though)

Sounds like Amex is the way to go.

+1 on using Amex for bottle service. You get that extra percentage point back for using it at Restaurant/Resorts. The only way to get around the annual fee is if you have an existing costco membership.
The other two that has some decent rewards is Chase Rewards Mastercard, and Capital Rewards VISA card. I got all 3 companies covered wherever I go. The platinum/frequent flyer cards stay at home and get no play because the point systems on them usually suck, but they have better replacement/insurance coverage on large goods.

AmEx - Never leave home without it.

I have a JetBlue Amex (I only fly JB so I get trueblue points for pretty much all my purchases) & a Mastercard through my bank for those places that don't take Amex or when my Amex balance is a little higher than I'd like for the month. My MC doesn't actually have any rewards unfortunately.

I have my main AMEX that I get the equivalent of 1.3 cents back per dollar spent. I throw as much as possible on that one as it's the best general use rewards I've found.

For places that don't take AMEX, I have a Continental/United Mastercard from Chase. They finally got me to apply for a card when they offered me 1 year no fee and 50k in miles. My local airport was a Continental hub before the United merger, but United still holds the most presence, so finding rewards flights isn't an issue. The actual mileage rewards are nothing special, but there are some nice additional benefits - 1 free checked bag per person on every flight (worth $25 each way per person), Elite Access boarding, priority bags, special hotel deals, and two passes a year to the President's Club.

Between the two cards, I have enough rewards to cash in on a nice week-long Caribbean vacation this winter, with the option to fly first class.

I prefer the Delta Amex. Both for points and miles.

Another vote for AMEX. I travel overseas roughly 6-8 times a year and have never had a problem using my AMEX in the UK, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Holland, Japan, etc. Not to mention Vegas
Never offer an open bar to a Wisconsinite... =)
