  • Weekend report: Tryst & Vanity

    Group:
Two people, me and a chick

    Hosts:
    At tryst I used Patrick
    At Vanity I used Aliya

I never actually met either, but they had us all set up and we didn't have any issues... so cool. Made reservations for tryst the day before, vanity the day of.

    Tryst (friday):
Cocktail waitress and bus were awesome. Dj was great. Only complaint: Bouncer for our section wasn't as proactive has he should of been to get random people away from the table. Once coming back from the dance floor i actually had to shoo someone out of my seat. 1L bottle of Rum, OTD inc tax/tip $600

    Vanity (saturday):
Sausage fest and 80% hip hop. Blech. Luckily I was already with a girl. Beautiful inside though.. very hip and "clubby". Got a pretty good spot near the dance floor, I told the guy who walked us in to swing back around and i'd give him something but he never did, so I gave it to our cocktail waitress.. who was awesome. Complaint: Again.. security issues. We come back from dancing and our bottle is straight up GONE. I'm like wtf? I call over our waitress and she finds it on the table next to us, apologizes and gives us a new one. 750ml rum OTD inc tax tip: $500 + my extra gratuity.

Vanity would be great for a group on a budget, their bottle prices are relatively inexpensive Both were a lot of fun, but if I could only do one, I'd go for Tryst.

I will add to this as I have just returned and I enjoy reading reactions...

Arrived late wednesday nite...to spend the nite gambling, drinking at the hard rock. We had rooms at hard rock and planet hollywood.

Thursday spent the day at the pool by the hard rock and later in the day went to the pool at Planet Hollywood. The crowd, dj and everything was better at the hard rock. Thursday nite went to Tao, used the $50 vip wristbands, and well worth it. You go on a separate line and not much wait at 10:30. Only used it one nite as a drunk friend decides to rip it off, late in the nite. Good crowd at Tao, even though we only spent a few hours. We then went to Treasures (strip club) which was nothing special, lasted about an hour, and then went to Safire where we spent hours. Tons of strippers everywhere probably more than customers.

Friday nite - spent the day at the hard rock pool, gambling...lack of sleep caught up and friday nite went to Cosmopolitan to eat and then hung out at the bar in back. Good music, crowd became stale after awhile. The hard rock was the deadest I have ever seen it on a Friday nite, The Monday when we we there had more people at night. Cosmopolitan was very busy.

Saturday - A thumbs up to Tom Gorman from Wet Republic. Upgraded our cabana at the same cost even though I was confused on the spot he was putting us to. He Checked in to make sure everything was going during the day and the service was good. Too bad the group was shot and it was brutally hot to kill everyone. Wet Republic was very busy but not packed. Not sure who the DJ was but could have been better.

Saturday - Destroyed from the heat and crashed and decided to wake up early and go to Spearmint Rhino. It has been few years since I have been to Rhino, still good but changed. I remember it as club crowd, locals, and strippers. It has become more of a stripclub now. Good vibe and like Safiire, tons of strippers.

Sunday - Rehab was the plan, but it was so dead....

In summary, Hard rock was empty all weekend. Planet Hollywood was mixed -- soso vibe...and the action was at Cosmopolitan...

I was at Rehab two weekends ago, busiest pool party I've been to by several notches.

And yes, all the action is at Cosmopolitan. There is more action on the casino floor of that place than tier 2 clubs.

Which pool at HRH where you at on Thursday? The Rehab pool or the North pool? What kind of music did the DJ play? Thanks.

Sorry you didn't have a great time, but I have to disagree with you on Rehab being dead, (no matter what weekend you would have come this summer, it's busier than pretty much any other pool party out there every weekend). If you looked out at the pool at 11am, then sure, but at 2pm every Sunday, we have more people at that pool than anywhere else in town. Check for pics online from any weekend this year and you'd be hard pressed to find a picture where anyone would say that the pool looks 'dead' on a Sunday afternoon. Next time you come by, give me a call first, and I'll walk around the pool with you around 2 or 3 oclock, and first drink is on me

Not sure if you were there later in the afternoon (after 3) but it was not busy. It might have been busy for a little while but was not later. It had nothing to do with having a good time, just reporting to what I saw. Hey, the hard rock can hold a huge crowd, but the huge crowds are a hard draw in vegas these days...Thanks for the offer of the drink, hopefully rehabs continues its legacy....
