...didn't really know where to post this, so I figured at least here would get some quick hits.

Has anyone ever bought drink tickets for your airline before the flight?
Currently looking at getting 10 tickets for $45 dollars... only $4.50 a drink compared to the usual $7+

Seems like a nice way to get a good buzz before I land, anyone have experience with these?

Also we have a 3 hr. layover in Detroit, so I'm thinking about buying a skyclub day-pass for $20 and being able to pound drinks for 2/3 hours before we leave Detroit... anyone ever use a SkyClub lounge pass?... if so how was it/

    Thanks!

We usually pick some up off eBay for southwest, pretty Fuckin solid!
Save some dough and get a pre-fade going before landing haha

Good to hear. 4 of us will be landing in Vegas at 1:30p after a 3 hours Detroit layover.... the other 3 of the group are coming from Chicago and will be there like 90 mins ahead of us... it'll be interesting to see who is more smashed before 2pm in an airport.

Considering you're flying from the UK/Netherlands, they should be free. I'm not surprised by how it seems US air carriers have nickel and dimed passengers for everything now. Flights are cheap, but expect to pay for everything else except taking a dump (though a Japanese airline, All Nippon Airways, was mentioned that they are/were encouraging passengers to take their #2's before boarding.)

That's probably good advice if you're paying or not... BA serve free liquor wherever you're going though. Virgin are stingy after the first one.

Be careful getting SW drink tickets on eBay. The old yellow tickets all expire on 8/31/11. If you are going after that be sure to get the new tickets!
