Aug 29th - Sep 11th (or Labor day week)

As a self-proclaimed foodie I can't believe my luck. I'm actually in Vegas during their restaurant week. For those of you not familiar with the concept it's a great way to sample fine cuisine at reduced rates.
    What I am about.

Would you believe that I have every day of my stay planned for where to eat but not a single day on where to club made out? Priorities!

It's funny that the two hotels I'm splitting my stay over(Cosmopolitan and THEHotel @ Mandalay Bay) are the two that have the most restaurants with RW specials.

Anyhow, it's not set in stone (lunches are very loose due to dayclubs) but the list goes something like this:

29th Mon Lunch - Milos, Cosmopolitan
29th Mon Dinner - STK, Cosmopolitan
        30th Tue Lunch - Parasol up/down, Wynn
30th Tue Dinner - Comme ca, Cosmopolitan
31th Wen Lunch - Lemongrass, Aria
31th Wen Dinner - Joel Robuchon, MGM Grand
1st Thu Lunch - BOA Steakhouse, Forum shops
1st Thu Dinner - Aureole, Mandalay Bay
        2nd Fri Lunch - ???
2nd Fri Dinner - Mix, Mandalay Bay
        3rd Sat Lunch - ???
3rd Sat Dinner - Either of Michael Minas places at Mandalay Bay and Bellagio

I salute your attention to fine dining! It always boggles my mind how people are willing to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on clubbing, but go bargain-hunting on dinner.

I go to Vegas just as much for the fine dining as I do for the clubs (several times per year), so I've been around the good and not-so-good. I'm also in the food/wine industry, so I've had plenty of chance to eat around the city

I see from your profile that you enjoy fine dining. May I suggest a few changes/additions to your list:

                        1) I didn't find BOA nor STK to be outstanding. They were both fine, but the atmosphere and location were superior to the food itself. Prime in the Bellagio truly does a spectacular job with steaks.

                        2) Parasol Up/Down is a bar/lounge. Last I checked (admittedly was a while ago) they were not a restaurant.

                        3) Lemongrass is overpriced and watered-down Thai food and nothing more.

                        4) While Mix is an Alain Ducasse restaurant, the experience isn't quite the same. The restaurants of the other grands chefs are far superior and up to the status of their European mother-restaurants.

                        5) Twist by Pierre Gagnaire (Mandarin Oriental) is extraordinary, and for the prices, an excellent deal when compared to his Paris restaurant. I highly suggest trying here.

                        6) Restaurant Guy Savoy is great, but if you don't want to spend the 300 dollars for a dinner, try sitting at the bar/lounge of the restaurant and order from the bar menu. Many of the dishes are also on the main menu and they are spectacular.

                        7) Aureole is good, but not great. Try Sage in the Aria for truly outstanding new-American cuisine. Similar in style, but far more innovative and better atmosphere. Aureole feels like you're dining in the 1990s.

                        8) Try Julian Serrano for modern and traditional tapas, by the namesake Michelin-starred chef. Perhaps as lunch instead of Lemongrass?

                        9) Michael Mina at the Bellagio is the best of Mina's restaurants in Vegas. The service is also excellent. Nice wine list here!!

                        10) Yellowtail at the Bellagio is a great, high-energy restaurant. Modern Japanese cuisine. Go with a few friends and order tapas-style.

Sorry for the flood of information, but I hope you find it helpful! You can see that I love dining in Vegas

I will be in town with a friend from Sep. 1-Sep. 7 if you wish to share a meal with us. Send me a PM.

                        Cheers,

                        Robert

Superb advice Robert! I'm noting all this down, definitely going to make some changes based on your suggestions.

I'm going out to eat lunch at Milos now, had it there the other day as well between video conferences. For the $20.11 price the selection and quality was exquisite.

Very glad I could help! Milos is an excellent restaurant. It's one of the best lunch restaurants in Vegas, but dinner is truly magnificent. It's best to go with a group so that you can order several types of whole fish, the raw selections, and of course their famous pressed mullet-roe! Great wines too!

                            Enjoy!
