Would the sandwhich trick help?

So I am booked for a 1 bedroom at the Palms in December. The next best rooms are all the specialty suites. So the question is, would this work or did I screw myself by booking such a high value room?

Maybe a better view? Not really sure on the Palms rooms in general.

From what I know, Palms is one of the easier places to give upgrades. However, it's a lot harder to justify a suite upgrade, than let's say a view upgrade. I would try a bigger sandwich, like $50 or something, and let them know it's some kind of special date like anniversary, honeymoon, etc etc.

I plan to try a $100 sandwich trick to see if it will get me into either the 2 bedroom rooms or one of the penthouses/speciality suites. Here's to hoping in December and I will let everyone know.
