  • This is NOT cool...

As many of you know, I'm a big supporter of the Hard Rock. I'm in my very early 50's, but it takes a lot to annoy me. Lately, the throngs of douche-bag 20 somethings who decide that it's OK to put 10-12 people in a 2 queen-bed room, and then spend the entire visit banging and I mean banging on the door at all hours to get the passed-out dude(s) with the key inside to wake-up and let them in is getting really OLD!

Last couple of my monthly visits, it's been like this for me and everyone on our floor. I expect it in the Casino Tower and even the Paradise Tower, but was kinda hopin' the generally higher rates might keep 'em outta the HRH, but apparently douche-bags come in all economic classes.

So to you cheapos who decide to do Vegas this way, I get it... just be cool about and not subject the entire floor to your BS at every hour of the day.

Unfortunately this also happens at the Wynn/Encore, Bellagio, and Cosmo as well. At least at the Wynn/Encore their security is on the ball a bit better and believe that repeated offenses will get them kicked out.

Isn't that part of the Vegas experience? Doesn't have to always be a good experience unfortunately

I think the official max occupation for most rooms hover around 4. The douches however tend to pack themselves tight in these rooms. I've experienced this around a couple of party resorts around The Med as well.

It's kinda funny actually how the same people who are perfectly willing to blow hundreds of dollars per night on clubbing are intent on saving half that amount on hotel rooms. Guess you have to cut every corner to keep up the 30K millionaire lifestyle.
              What I am about.

of course you won't ask for 10 keys right when checking in. but it's very easy to go down and get more keys later.

Isn't this why you don't sleep in Vegas? I almost was part of these "douchebags" not by choice, the guy who started the trip wanted to pile 6-8 of us in one room. I wasn't down and just rented my own room.

This is the type of comment I knew would show-up at some point... I'm not talkin' about knocking' on the door... I'm walking past 2 of the guys who had Taco Bell bags with burrito's oozing out of their mouths, backs turned to the door and reverse kicking it as hard as they could at 8 a.m... yelling for "Spanky to open the fucking door man!!!"

A few doors down the maid was the one who told me how large the group was in the room. I'm not the type to turn someone in, at lease not over noise, though it happened several times over the three day period, including four of them sleeping in the hallway, snoring' like bears cause they couldn't get in.

I'm actually glad to hear it goes on elsewhere and not just at the Hard Rock, but it doesn't make it "Cool" and doesn't make me "old" cause I think it sucks!

So either complain about it to management or stay elsewhere. Your points are valid and no one should have to deal with that but you can either deal with it or move. I would be BSing you to tell you that it won't happen again. It's Vegas and 20 somethings usually can't afford to just go solo on rooms all the time. Sucks for those around them but it is what it is. My suggestion was based on the fact that I had actually heard that, I'd advise you not to take all comments as personal attacks or you'll be at it all day.

Bottom line to me is that if you know young crazy people frequent certain hotels, you stay there at your own risk. If you're not going to make a complaint then there is no real chance any of that is going to change. You not saying something to anyone who can fix it is what ends up making it 'cool'.

Unfortunately, OP thought he'd have less of chance of it occurring at HRH. Staying elsewhere wouldn't necessarily solve the problem as this can happen in pretty much any hotel. Plus, I'd hate to not stay at a hotel that i really like just because some people suck. I just stayed at Palms Place this past week and we still had a noisey room in the late hours of the morning a few doors down even though it's off the strip and not even in the same tower as the casino or clubs. Luckily, they weren't nearly as bad as the room in discussion sounds. Putting 10-12 people in a room is pretty OTT. It is superrr easy to have someone go down and say they lost their keys to get extra copies. If you really can't afford anything more than splitting a room 10 ways, just suck it up at stay at IP. I don't even like having to have 4 people in my room. I'd book my own room at a cheap hotel at that point!

I've had that experience at a couple of the hotels. I stayed at Imperial Palace once for a night before we moved to the MGM. I figured it appeared to be decent and it would be nice to stay somewhere new before our reservations at the MGM.

That was likely the worst experience I had ever had. It was a week day so thankfully the hotel wasn't super busy. It seemed like the entire floor was full or kids who had just turned 21. Being that I am pretty young myself, I didn't really mind. When I did start to mind was when there appeared to be a party in the hallway at about midnight on a tuesday night.

Long story short, if I am going to Vegas to "relax" I pay for an upgrade and get away from the douchebags in tapout shirts. If I am going for a weekend to just party, I chalk it up to Vegas just being Vegas...

^^ douchebag that has done this in the past

Sorry, just something about getting back to the room around 5-6am filled with energy and stories. Can't say i've banged on teh door, but my group is usually loud when we return to the room :P

On a sidenote, I understand you like HRH, but that's actually a hotel that many of us refer people to when they want the "wild crazy party hotel with 20 somethings everywhere at all hours of the night". Some of us actually seek out this type of atmosphere...crazy right?!
