  • Dressing to impress

Ok, so I know that in Vegas us ladies tend to wear as little as possible to get in to clubs. My question is what would make me stand out from the other girls?

I know good hair and make-up, but any other suggestions? I don't want to blend in, I want to stand out.

Guys and girls opinions both appreciated.

There's probably a lot of funny answers to that one, but I'll try to be serious.

Honestly... I'd figure most guys/girls will notice a pretty face, and it really wouldn't matter what she's wearing. But you'd have to figure out your own style. Are you going to go the short skirt/dress route (like most girls), or you could go more casual (nice shorts/pants/denim)... OR you could even go one step further than casual, with a more punk rock kinda vibe which would certainly stand out in a sea full of short skirts.

You should check out pictures on sites like NapkinNights, or SpyOnVegas just to see what's more common so you can avoid it.

Seeing that a lot of females are strutting around with mini dresses showing bare legs, perhaps putting on some black thigh-high stockings (see-thru, not opaque, those are for halloween costumes haha), with lace tops would be a bit different. If you wear a short dress with those, and have some of the lace peeking out from below. I know guys will be wondering what kind of ensemble you've got under there...(source: my Y chromosome)

But yes, those would be cool and would definitely be a stand out if I saw them.

Word. If your face is busted unfortunately, it won't matter what you wear. And sometimes fitting in isn't such a bad thing. I like to wear black dresses sometimes and make the outfit pop with jewelry and shoes. Whatever you wear just be comfortable and don't try to do too much, people can always tell when a person is trying too hard.

Please don't wear anything too creative. I wouldn't wanna be caught with a girl who everybody's ask, "wtf is she wearing?"

My dresses are usually typically fairly simple & well fitting, but it's my jewelry (mostly Betsey Johnson) that usually stands out and gets noticed. My shoes get noticed more often then the dresses too. As long as the outfit fits well & is flattering, I prefer to use accessories to make it a more memorable outfit. Not wearing black will stand out a little since many people, myself included, wear little black dresses at least once per trip. I also notice more when girls wear pants, but sometimes it's a good thing and...sometimes not.

Thanks for the help! I'm definitely not the punk rock type ( though I have had purple highlights recently). And I think I'll skip the Zubaz dress

For the ladies, what brand of heelsdo you find most comfortable for a night out?

Personally, I feel like after a few hours in any heels, your feet are going to hurt. I just push through it because I refuse to be one of those broads walking down the strip like a barefoot heathen (no offense to anyone who has done this). I guess if we're talking strictly comfort I like Steve Madden heels but like I said, after a while it's still gonna hurt.

I always tell my gfs that while a deal sounds tempting but honestly with shoes you get what you pay for. A $50 dress might look fine if the material is solid, but cheap shoes are cheap shoes, they're not sturdy and they just look cheap. Department stores are doing their sales at the moment (only for a few more days I believe), so you can score some pretty good deals on designer shoes. Prada heels are pretty comfortable but I know a lot of girls also like Stuart Weitzman and the latter's more affordable. Generally I'd say anything with a platform will be more comfortable than ones without.

As for standing out, I agreed with the person who said if you have a pretty face/banging figure, you will be noticed regardless what you wear. Just wear what you feel confident and sexy in, if you blend you blend. I would say if you're going for a low cut dress, maybe have a sleeve or keep the length of the dress a little longer than If-I-bend-over-I'll-flash-everyone-in-line. Basically show a little something but don't give away the farm

My go to shoes are a pair of Kelsi Dagger Syndey shoes in Pewter. I find those to be my most comfortable pair. I've worn them out entire nights multiple times per trip for 3 trips and so far so good. They do start to hurt a bit as at the night goes on, but it's tolerable. The worst part is the back top of the zipper & thats is easily fixable with a bandaid.

Purple highlights will do it too. And like KAM said, accessories can play a major role.

Kinda tough for me to be unbiased. I'm more a fan of the punk/alt or girls with some kind of edge rather than the cookie cutter (dress & heels) type... so that stands out more to me.

My girlfriend alwys stashes those little footpads for heels/ball of her foot in her tiny little purse thing when we go out there... She doesn't start with them in the shoe, so if during the night things get rough she can add them and it makes it much better - usually backs a blister pad or two as well.

                              ...Thank god I'm a guy.
