Something you don't see much of. A negative review from me

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/imperial-pal...Lik6UW4XPFYRSQ
First of all, bring on the one star reviews! Anything more then that.. you are contributing to a bad cause. Don't even give this place any respect at all. Do I sound harsh? Yes. Should I be? Probably.

My mindset was never to make the "IP" my primary hotel. I was just here as a crash room. But who would've thought spending such little time here, can cause a ton of misery. I literally spent about 5 hours total (including sleep time) at this joint. I hated every minute of it.

So lets rewind to the miserable few hours I had at this place. We spent all this time driving out from SoCal, the first thing we wanted to do was just to check in so we can be on our way out and club over at Gallery. I had a table setup and waiting for us. We just needed some room to get ready. This place couldn't really give us that.

The mishaps of course started when first walking through the parking garage and you are subjected to the smell of dog shit. I kid you not. You see a sign on the way from the garage to the casino that there is some type of dog park in some back alley. WTF? .. Why...?

So we keep walking through this maze. You see one sign after another, go through alleys, tunnels and stairwells until you get into this old strip mall from the 1950s and that will lead you to something that they call the lobby. On the way there I decided to have my troops chill out. Set our stuff down for a minute, I will go grab the keys and come back. As I was getting settled in, some magical high power made my hand slip and we dropped our first 1.75L of Stoli I had in a bag and it crashed and spilled all over the place. "FUCK ME" There goes the pregame party.

I go up to the counter and homeboy tries to get me to do this $20 upgrade just so i can get two queens. This is after I booked 2 queens, printed out a reservation and it said I had 2 queens on there. He saw the frustration in my face and knew his tactic failed. So I m not sure if this was how I got punished. But we got placed at this "special" towers that are on the 2nd floor of the 2nd floor of another tower. Finding our room basically took two separate sets of elevators and some maze crawling. This ordeal took like 30 minutes to figure out.

By the time we walked into the room, opened the door and saw that it looked shittier then a motel 6 in the middle of Bakersfield, we had no energy to get angry anymore. The room has a total of 2 power outlets... "Bah fuck it." The room has one sink that clogs when you are washing your hands.. "hmmmmm... Fuck it.." Half used toilet paper and no back up roll.. "Fuckity Fuck it!" We decided to stay at this room like we are camping and it worked out for the best. "FUCK YOU IP!"

Thank god we had bottle service that night and 4 more days at MGM Signatures to look forward to. Buyer beware. Its cheap for a reason and don't make the same mistake I did!

IP was my first hotel I ever stayed in Vegas. I had the same mindset as most people who stayed there. "well its just a room and I won't be in it long" or " its a great location for the price". So I didn't think it was too bad. Then my second trip I stayed at the Westward Ho and that shithole made me like the IP even better. Now I called the Hotel I mean Motel at Westward Ho a shithole but for some reason loved the Casino. Then let the Comps roll in and I stayed at T.I., Mirage, Mgm Grand, TheHotel at MB, reg MB, Flamingo Go rooms, Venetian, Excaliber, Luxor, and the Rio. Now after most of those Hotels are fucking kidding me I will never ever stay at that waste of a hotel the IP ever again. I learned that it does matter where you stay even if its 5-6 hours a day in your room. Next a new 1 Aria in 22 days baby!!!!!!

I think you went a little too cheap to be honest. You booked a capri rooms. They are basically motel 6 rooms in the back. If you want cheap and clean, you want the deluxe rooms, which are like 1-2 bucks more/night lol.

Never knew a few hours can do so much damage. Did you read about this for Aria:

My first Vegas stay was IP too... and it was honestly pretty good.

We had main tower, strip view, and we had 3 rooms all next to each other (5 people staying - had an extra room as a 'party room' so we didn't trash our sleeping ones to badly).
We had the room for 7 nights, and the total cost per room for the week was $220 ($660 for all three). Had ZERO wait to check in, the rooms were dated but clean. Awesome location, never had any trouble with anything the entire stay.... one night the fire alarm went off at like 4:00am, we had just gotten back and were about to sleep, so we drunk shuffle out the door and realize that no one else is exiting the building (our first trip - we were clueless).... so I went to the desk and asked what the hell was going on - they said fire alarms are normal at night (drunks use wrong door like in college dorms) so for our trouble the gave us a free night in each room ($20 each - $60 total), 5 free buffet tickets, and 10 free drink tickets to Rockhouse.... very fair in my mind.

I loved the low table mins (was still poor and in college), I liked the food there, I LOVED the location, and had no real complaints.

Honestly in Vegas, if you're cheap you get what you pay for, and if you're rich you get ripped off.... IP was a great value. Its crazy that we paid $20 a night for sunday-thursday to be dead center strip... I was scared for that price but it really was a great vavlue for what we paid.

Well at least they clean it up before I got there. At least I hope they did. I do get comps from Ceasars as well as MGM properties maybe should double book at Planet Ho just in case lol.

You LIKED THE FOOD AT IP. I hope your talking about Hash A GO GO "cause thats the shit" and not the Buffet. Cause that buffet is the worst buffet next to Circus Circus.I got comped there once oh it was horrible. I agree with the other thousands you review it with skull and cross bones and warning signs never to eat at the buffet.

I stayed there the first part of my very first trip to Vegas while still in college & right after I turned 21. While I would definitely never stay there again, I can't say I had a bad time either. The rooms we old and difficult to navigate through & the buffet was terrible, but we survived. There was a little karaoke bar with free or dirt cheap drinks that we got wasted on, the location was perfect, the had a little luau one day which was cute & had free drinks, & we got a good price for tickets to Le Reve from the concierge there. The second half of the trip I was attending a convention so we moved to Palace Station so we wouldn't have to cab it to the meetings in the morning. It was still our first trip & they had a shuttle so the location didn't really bother me much. I fell absolutely in LOVE with Vegas (obviously) on this trip so I really can't complain too much about it. I just...will never stay at IP again, even if the rooms are free.

Never had the chance to stay there....but I would definitely stay away if you have the funds to stay someplace else. Only time I've ever been there was to visit a friend staying there. The elevators take FOREVER and in addition it is a goddamn maze.

I guess for the Vegas virgins, everyone should at least experience this once so that they can appreciate the more upscale places....

One time we had to drag luggage down ~10 flights because the elevators were taking so long we were in danger in missing our flight.

I stayed at IP at least 5 times when I was younger and it definitely makes me appreciate the hotels I stay at now.
