My 3 friends and I are looking to go to our first EBC party this Sunday and have had trouble getting our plans lined up. We've known our travel dates for several months so we started looking into getting a couch or table for 7/17 back in April. My friend called EBC directly to get quotes and was transferred to a host who gave her prices with the cheapest being a couch for $250. We decided that was a great deal for one of their Sunday parties so I called back that same evening and was transferred to Mikey T. He quoted me the same price so I booked a couch...or at least I thought I had.
He never sent me a confirmation email- he said it wouldn't go through. Instead, he texted me telling me my reservation was confirmed, though unfortunately there are no details in the text about the couch being $250. A few weeks ago I contacted Mikey T again because we were considering upgrading to a lily pad based on some of the posts we read on JC and Yelp. After a few days I got a response back from him asking who I booked with. I let him know I booked with him back in April and after a few days I heard back saying how he found the reservation and gave me the lily pad quote. No big deal, I know he's busy and from everything I've read on JC, Mikey T is great so I wasn't too concerned. I contacted him back to let him know we were sticking with the $250 couch and got a response back yesterday saying the couch is $500, not $250. WTF. Does this seem odd or is this typical and we should just expect it? Will it be $1000 for a couch by the time we get there? I'm just unfamiliar with how this works.
We kind of feel scammed and don't want to pay more just on principle even though we know the party will be fun. I'm bummed that this might not work out and also bummed that Kaskade isn't there this weekend. I'd probably pay more and not worry about it if he was. Even Afrojack I would be happy with- I've got to admit I don't really know as much about Dada Life. Would you pay double for a couch and just deal with it?
