  • Clubbing without bottle service

Reading this forum for the last week it would seem the major Vegas Clubs all revolve around the concept of bottle service. Not being much of a drinker myself this has never been on my radar. (I would pull in bottles of wine though)

Just how high a percentage of the club goers in Vegas are not "connected" to tables? While it is common to share bottles I prefer my drinks expertly concocted by the knowing mixologists at the bar, whereas bottle service drinks tend to end up as vodka with a splash of red bull.
    What I am about.

I'd say more than half the people in the club don't have tables. Ideally, the club would prefer those peeps to be female since the majority of tables are filled with males, but thats usually not possible.

a high percentage, prob about 60-70%. Bottle service or not you'll have a great time.

Of course it depends which club you go to. I've been to Marquee/Haze/Pure/Tao/Chauteau with no bottle service and had no trouble getting drinks fairly quickly...even on busy nights

It seems that most people (that I know) do bottle service because of the added value and cost effectiveness. You can always order your bottle of choice, and the talent of a cocktail server is similar to that of a bartender. If you don't drink vodka, don't order vodka. With a bottle your not paying for the mixers, nor are you paying cover charge. You also don't have to wait in line at the ropes or bar. You also get a place to call home (real estate), so you don't have to stand.

Couldn't agree more!! Excellent service, I place to sit and relax when you're not dancing!! And some clubs have restrooms for the people with booths, so there's never a line for the restroom!

Not sure of the ratio. As for drinks we do shots alot so table service and bartendering is easy..

I am seeing bottle service as an experience in itself... kinda the whole VIP concept... probably not something I would do every nite since some of the guys im going with are beer drinkers... but I see it as a *special treat* if I can word it like that.. hehehe...

What I have noticed (mostly read lol) about Vegas is that you can taillor your experience to your personnality and needs...there is no right or wrong way to do it... as long as you have a blast...

And I surely agree on wine... but its rare that it is any good in bars (to my experience) I sure will enjoy some great bottles in restaurants
Was in Vegas Sept 2-9, 2011...I will see ya soon Vegas!

the next big thing on the coasts usually takes a couple years to hit vegas. The Cocktail culture has been slowly seeping into vegas for awhile. The problem is that a joint can build word of mouth in a more cosmopolitan city, whereas in vegas people just want a wild party. A place like Downtown Cocktail Room can't really deliver that atmosphere, no matter how precise the mixologists are.

The bars at Cosmo seem to be trying to capitalize on the Cocktail Culture, we'll see if any other properties follow suit. I'd think they money play is to simply put more BS in your property like Bellagio is doing, and not focus on the quality of the drinks themselves.

Any time we've "hopped" placed to place or didn't settle down with bottle service it breaks the bank... I know one night at The Bank I was just drinking beer and 13 budweisers at $10+tip (plus shots/catching a round here and there) got expensive fast.

                      Figure $150 just in my beer/tips + $20 cover + $20 shots... I'm halfway to a bottle myself.

You don't need bottle service at a vegas club. I go to clubs 120x a year or so, so I have no issues standing and paying a lot less per drink.

I've clubbed in Vegas probably 20 times and with the exception of once, always entered without being connected to a table. I mostly drink beer, so the equity of bottle service isn't as much to me. Bottle service IMO makes a ton of sense at a few select clubs in major cities (NYC etc) where you can't get in without a table. None of the clubs in Vegas I would categorize as "exclusive".

You are paying for the real estate. The cost per drink at XS or Marquee through bottle service will be 50-100% MORE than if you order at the bar.

I am a fan of table service if you can afford it, but just know what you are paying for. Just because the bottle seems like you are buying in "bulk" does not mean you are saving money.

Tables at pool parties have much more reasonable minimums for what you get IMO.
