  • Healthy food in Vegas?

    Hey everyone

I have a brief question: Is it possible to eat 24/7 healthy food (low fat, high protein - etc) in Vegas?

I know it might sound stupid - however have mercy - it's my first time there. The last time (business trip in Dallas) it was all about the fast food thing

    greetings from Germany

I think it would be pretty easy, steak & eggs... order egg-whites only and you've got high protein low fat.

Could go to Earl of Sandwich & get a sandwich with plenty of veggies and no mayo

Go to grand lux and get a salad...

(you could do it if you really wanted to)
    I Love Vegas!

Well that's the reason ^^ Healthy food as compensation for alcohol...

To be honest: that plan never worked out - anyway...guilty conscience...

                Thanks for the replies!

Whole Foods has a produce section. I've even seen some apples at Walgreens.

It's possible to eat healthy 24/7... but it's gonna be way more expensive, and way less convenient.

Your best bet would be to stock up on "healthy" snacks to keep in your room to supplement the meals/servings you'll be too busy to go find. There are various degrees of "healthy" food, so it depends on you.

-Sushi: can be found easily, relatively cheap, and great as an inbetween or meal.
-Fast Food: Lots of places have grilled chicken, so without sauces or bread you're set. (Most have salad options too for the night when you don't want carbs.... unless you need em to soak up alcohol .) Plus you can always pick apart items to get what you need.
-Coconut water: stay hydrated, and rehydrated after drinking.
-Baby food: Throw a few jars in your room just in case (don't knock it until you try it.)

Just be creative. Break down your dietary needs and go from there. Every restaurant can bang out a protein & vegetable dish, so it's all up to you.

When I am on vacation screw the diet esp in Vegas when there are so many good places to eat. Its funny tho that I lose a pound or 2 when I get home from Vegas after all that drinking and eating 2 solid meals a day. I quess its all that walking up and down the strip that helps. I can always get back to the gym when I get home.

                          Exactly!

So many great places to eat in Vegas... you'd be doing your taste buds a disservice NOT eating the good stuff. I'm on a ridiculous cutting diet, but the 3 days I'm in town, I will shock my system with buffets, burgers, booze... and of course steak.

*All the drinking, walking, and constant partying will dehydrate ya, and you'll easily lose some water weight. (But it's worth it!)
