Levels of Hosts

Hi,

So occasionally you read a story about people being forced to move tables, or reservations not being honored, and it seems it's often the result of a more junior host not having enough pull to set things right.

I was just wondering what the 'highest level' of hosts are - i.e. tables won't get bumped no matter what.

My casino host has offered to book a table for us at The Bank, but I would be very surprised if he actually came out and walked us in. Am I better off booking through him or a senior VIP host?

I have only worked with a few independent hosts and I cannot tell if they did a good job or not because we were walked right in, seated at an okay table and not bothered. (so it was a $300 bottle service line pass, basically).

Money talks. Period. If you're tables getting bumped most likely its because a spender wants that table. If you have a $2000 table and a person thats going to spend $10,000 wants it, you're going to get bumped.

Another example is if you have the same minimum of someone else, but you dont tip and the other person does, the other person is going to get that table.

In some cases, a JR host will get bumped for a senior host, but most of the time it has to do with money.

Here is the hierarchy of people who can book tables

Owner
Director of (Marketing, Vip services, operations, etc)
Manager
Sr. Host
Host
Jr. Host
(sometimes) Promotion Host
Cocktail waitress, bartender, busser, etc
Promotor
Mexican escort guy
Whale shit

The problem with the MEGs (Mexican Escort Guys) is that they are not reliable for meeting you outside the club at your agreed upon time.

as much as i think i understand this i STILL dont lol.....being a girl guys automatically think you wanna get in free so they send u to that long line but oohhhhhh no im tryna go right in lol...so what do you suggest to chicks like me who willing to pay whoever to get in bc i hate lines? i also hate the promoters/host who dont walk you in or you never see bc giving instructions via text from somewhere doesnt really help me....like one guy told us talk to the guy in the white shirt....really?!? its like five of those guys right now...but oh well maybe ill get some good ones next time

Walk directly up to the ropes closest to a person wearing a suit so you can get his attention without being an asshole (even if its a table reservation line and you dont have a reservation), tell him you dont want to wait and then hand him $20 per person($40 if its a big DJ night or a holiday) and the ropes will magically open!

Double those prices if you're a guy.

Anthony, what's the difference between guest list and promotors list?

Besides the obvious differences, it pretty much denotes how long they've been with the company or in the industry, and how much they get paid. Sr. Hosts are required to book more tables than Jr hosts.

In some cases more Sr. people have more pull in the operations from night to night.

Thanks! It actually does work we did it at haze Thursday and I asked the guy in a suit to come over so I could ask a question and he said 20 each but then I said 20 for both and he was like okay since y'all beautiful so it does work. U just have to have the right approach I guess, Thanks
