haha nice! Atleast your friend Catherine isn't a C-blocker. Also you actually got sometime to GTL? Wow I thought I was the only one that does that. Good job and you girls definitely need to come back for the invasion.

If anything she's the worst person to ask if something's a good idea, she will always say yes! Hoping to get back next year, maybe for a week this time though

I've got the same idea!! One week in Vegas! So far i've only done 4 days/nights so far.... one week actually sounds frightening!

Its not bad! next year they are going to have something similar to Miami Music week but in Vegas for EDC. So they got plenty of things going on. Just gotta pace yourselfs!

Yeh i'd say pace yourself but it's hard not to go crazy on the first day!

A week is possibly the worst, we just did that. 2 Weeks you have time to try and kill the bug/ see a lot and you don't feel bad for having rest days because you're there for two dam weeks!
4 days you can go hard or go home and sleep on the journey out.
A week leaves you in this middle ground where you have to be a serious soldier to party hard the whole time (I couldn't manage to, still did something on the quieter nights though) but you feel like a lameo for having a quiet night or two because 'you're only there for a week' or 'It's Saturday in Vegas, I should do more than wander the strip, gamble and watch TV'

Hmmm didn't really think about it that way! With two weeks you have 2 weekends so a lot of options, and you don't have to go at it hard every day. But if your only there over one weekend you're gonna feel like you have to cram as much in as possible! Ah well, there's only one way to find out

Day 7
Urgh, woke up feeling shockingly bad and a bit disorientated. We had a while before we had to check out but decided to pack up and get back to home base asap. Checking out also seemed to take forever, not what we needed at that point in time. Taxied it back to Excalibur and decided the only cure was some really greasy food and sugary drinks from the food court so we grabbed some before heading back to the room, then immediately collapsed for a couple of hours.

We eventually got up and spent the afternoon by the pool recovering before going to The Pub in the Monte Carlo for food, finally started to feel alive again! Headed to the nearest sports book to watch the rest of the Tampa game and got some mikes hard lemonade to try and trick my body into thinking it wasn’t more alcohol, didn’t work! Was feeling pretty rough still, and some creep in the sports book spent most of the game staring at me and Catherine instead of the screen. The cocktail waitress brought him a drink and accidentally spilt some beer on him, he jumps up and he’s batting at his leg as if he’s on fire or something, caused such a scene over nothing. Douchebag.

Wandered down to cosmo for a drink then got a taxi to our helicopter night flight that we’d booked before the trip. You’re given a specific time to turn up but then you have to wait around for your flight, but we were told about his when we booked so we just starting digging in to the free champagne. Some snotty guy turned up with his wife and expected to fly immediately, he just wouldn’t stop bitching and moaning, kept going back up to the desk and asking how much longer. I just don’t get how people can be in such a bad mood in Vegas!

I think we were hanging around about half an hour before we went to watch the safety video (everyone had to wait for me because i was in the restroom, oops!), then a bit longer before it was our turn. The bus took us straight on to the airstrip and we got picked to go in the front seats next to the pilot, woop! We were both a mixture of scared and excited at this point, it’d been a few years since we’d been on a helicopter.
I was literally clinging to my seat when we took off, did i mention i’m scared of heights? And that it was really windy?! Our pilot soon put us at ease though, and the 2 guys from Texas who were behind us were cracking jokes the entire time and making me laugh. It was a short flight but the view was amazing, totally worth it.

After touching down and celebrating still being alive we got the shuttle back to the Tropicana then headed over to New York New York. We got ourselves a huge cocktail from coyote ugly then went for a wander and did a bit of gambling, we’re the lowest of low rollers though so nothing too exciting........

Day 8

We grabbed some breakfast in the monte carlo, Catherine had a few bites of hers then ran off to the restroom feeling sick, good start! Then we headed down the strip, stopping to watch the Bellagio fountains, then into caesers to do a bit of shopping. First stop was fat tuesdays to get a 190 octane, that perked Catherine up a bit.

I think after that we decided to check out carnival court so walked down there, but it looked dead so kept going and wandered into casino royale and then o’sheas to get some $1 margarita’s. Somehow ended up in the flamingo just before the heavens opened and there was a huge thunderstorm! We decided to head to a sports book to watch the canucks game and ended up in the Paris one again for some reason, i think we left it too late and everywhere was really busy.

Many bottles of bud were drank and again the Canucks won so we were on a high. It must have been 9ish at this point and we somehow ended up back up the strip at New York New York, it seemed like a perfect time to go on the rollercoaster, luckily neither of us threw up!

Back down in the casino we were just at the bill breaker when a Canadian guy next to us asked how much we’d won, he’d just won something like $300 on wheel of fortune. He suddenly decided that we were going for a drink with him, put his arm around me and lead me to the bar. I didn’t really have much choice in the matter but he was cute and i’m a sucker for Canadian accents (as well as American and Australian!) so i wasn’t complaining. His 2 friends followed along rolling their eyes. By the sounds of it the original guy (who i’ll call D from now on) had been calling the shots all night and had the attention span of a goldfish, so they were getting a bit weary of his antics.

D got us a table in a bar in the middle of NY NY and bought us all drinks, I made the mistake of saying i’d have whatever he was having which turned out to be crown and coke, now there’s a recipe for disaster. Catherine sat next to his friend who i’m gonna call CM because he looked scarily just like Chris Maloney from the show Oz. I immediately hit it off with D, but CM was sat with his arms crossed looking grumpy, turns out his ex wife is English ( and a redhead like Catherine) so our accents were probably an unwelcome reminder! Catherine being the perfect wing woman tried her best to get him to cheer the fuck up, and before long he was smiling and chatting away, phew.

At some point their other friend left, must admit i wasn’t really paying much attention! D decided we should learn how to play craps, so we left Catherine and CM chatting. Craps was making no sense to me at this point, but i’m gambling with someone else’s money and apparently we were up so it’s all good. We took advantage of the free drinks then moved on to roulette and the sour faced dealer there. D was trying his best to get the guy to smile which was making me laugh, and it eventually worked. D was the kind of guy who’d just start talking to anyone, so he was a lot of fun to be around.

After another go on wheel of fortune, and for some reason dancing in the middle of the casino, i realised i’d better check how Catherine was doing. Back at our table Catherine and CM are getting on really well and the guys just keep ordering rounds. At some point D proposed to me, i made him get down on one knee and insisted on taking his watch seen as he didn’t have a ring. Apparently i get a bit demanding on crown and coke........

.....so for a while i’m pretty distracted, then i overhear CM saying some pretty dirty stuff to Catherine, telling her to forget her boyfriend and what he’d do to her if she went back to his room with him. The guy was really arrogant, but also really hot and i could tell Catherine was wishing she could find out if he was all talk or if he really was that good! As rocky as her relationship was at the time she’s not that kind of girl, but damn this guy was persistent!

....the night seemed to have flown by and it was about 3am, after a quick chat with Catherine ( which i’m sure was pretty amusing if anyone overheard) i decided i was gonna leave with D. D was sharing a room with the guy who left earlier and CM wouldn’t switch rooms, he must have thought he still had some chance of getting some tonight. So Catherine decided to stay out for a while and gamble, i was pretty sure she could handle CM so left her to it......

So at some point we must have agreed a time for Catherine to come back but i must have forgot all about it......Catherine couldn’t get in the room though because her key card wouldn’t work so at least i had a bit of warning! She came in muttering something about CM being the cockiest guy she’d ever met but didn’t stick around to explain what happened, she took one look at us and decided to go back down to the casino for a while..........

She reappeared at about 6am, grumpily kicks the door a few times instead of knocking. At this point i’m alone and almost asleep so get up to let her in, she storms past and straight into bed. She’s doesn’t stay mad for long though, she was just tired and in desperate need of her bed. Then she explains what happened with CM.....
....for some reason they ended up back at the mirage, CM’s hotel. They’d walked all the way down there for reasons Catherine can’t remember, and she ended up in his room for ‘a drink’. Luckily the walk must have sobered her up a bit because she immediately went to the bathroom and started to freak out, as tempting as it was she didn’t want to fuck up her relationship back home. She had visions of him being naked waiting for her as she walked out of the bathroom, but when she finally emerged he went in after her.......So what does Catherine do to rectify this situation? She did a runner!

She felt pretty bad about it, but this guy loved himself so much! I just keep imagining the look on his face when he left the bathroom to see the empty room......

Hmmm can't rely on that to fill in the blanks, most of the pictures we took were when we were sober, after that we were having too much fun to think about getting the camera out! And Catherine deleted a lot of the evidence when she was feeling guilty

You did not think to do the Hangover moment? get all the group together relive the memories on the camera then delete. one of the guys coming on our trip is adamant that he is going to have a camera placed on one of his shirt buttons just so he knows what the hell happened to him.
