lost ID! any advice/suggestions appreciated!

So one of my SMART friends lost his id a couple days ago (!!!!) and were going to be in Vegas this weekend. He has an expired id and a temporary/paper ID issued by the DMV. The plan was to hit the pool parties and the major clubs this weekend, has anyone ever been in a similar situation? Do you think he will be able to get into any of pool parties/clubs??

If he doesn't have the passport then I would suggest him to bring his expired and temp ID and take the risk. Never been in this situation but i am thinking he should be fine with expired and temp ID. Looks like no other choice for him anyway.

Most states you can get a state id card from a tag agency. They are usally 15-20 bucks. It looks like a D.L. but its not. Its state issued and is acceptable form of id.

there is a thread about this somewhere. basically the person was all good with an expired one. they didn't even check the expiration date.

This is weird.. In my state you can get a duplicate license or state id by walk in same day. Costs five bucks and takes five minutes for a duplicate license.

i had my license taken away a week before i left for vegas last year. Went to dmv and had them give me just an ID that had my picture and birthdate. I couldnt drive anywhere but it could get me in anywhere that needed an ID.

In a lot of states you wait for you DL to come in the mail and they don't make them right there.

If they can't get a state ID issued right away, I would just bring the expired one, the temporary one (and maybe laminate a copy of that one for the pool parties), and a couple copies of the birth certificate if available. It's a lot to carry, but that would suck to not get in because of it.....
