  • Help! Im new, first time to vegas.

Ive been browsing this forum all afternoon and i've come up with a couple questions.

1.) I see people mentioning "hosts" when going to clubs. What is a host? Do i need a host in order to get into the club?

2.) What do people usually do during the daytime in vegas?

3.) What should i wear to the clubs? (Im a guy) Will i get denied from a club if i'm wearing jeans? Should i strictly stick to dress pants, dress shoes, and a dress shirt? Can i get in with khaki pants or do my pants have to be black dress pants?

4.) How much do you normally tip the bartenders in vegas?

5.) Will a group of 4 guys (no girls) have trouble getting into clubs? How long should we expect to wait in line?

Thanks for your help! I know these might be pretty stupid questions but like i said, I am new and am not sure what to expect. We'll be in vegas in early July.

2.) hitting the casinos, shopping, pools, pool parties, recovering from a hangover

3.) dress to impress but jeans are acceptable as long as they're not baggy. that with dress shoes (dress shoes that dont look like sneakers) with a nice collard button shirt and you're gold. if you get a table you can sometimes get away with dressing a bit more casual but do so at your own risk.

        only for bottle service.
2.) What do people usually do during the daytime in vegas?
pool parties. you definitely should go to at least one when you are out there (wet republic/hard rock hotel on sunday/encore beach club).
3.) What should i wear to the clubs? (Im a guy) Will i get denied from a club if i'm wearing jeans? Should i strictly stick to dress pants, dress shoes, and a dress shirt? Can i get in with khaki pants or do my pants have to be black dress pants?
jeans and dress shirt with dress shoes
4.) How much do you normally tip the bartenders in vegas?
dollar for a beer, i'd probably tip 3-4 for mixed drinks so they make them stronger next time
5.) Will a group of 4 guys (no girls) have trouble getting into clubs? How long should we expect to wait in line?
show up at 930pm and don't say you are in one group. for marquee buy presale tickets off website

Thanks for your help! I know these might be pretty stupid questions but like i said, I am new and am not sure what to expect. We'll be in vegas in early July.

thanks bob! i have another question. Is there a dress code for the pool parties? Or would showing up in just a pair of swim trunks and a t shirt be fine?

my advice, if you aren't getting bottle service at the pool party, is wear bathing suit, sandals and a $1 white t shirt. that way you can just place your tshirt somewhere and not worry about it getting stolen.

4.) How much do you normally tip the bartenders in vegas?
This is up to you...everyone has their differing opinions. On the low end I say $2-3 a drink and $4-5 on the high end. If you run a tab then evaluate the bartenders or servers "service" and go up or down from 15%. I work in the industry and people would be amazed at how far tipping goes..

                Ok!

1.) I see people mentioning "hosts" when going to clubs. What is a host? Do i need a host in order to get into the club?
they're talking about bottle service, for the most part. You don't need a host to get into a club, but knowing one/contacting them for bottle service helps.

2.) What do people usually do during the daytime in vegas?
Depends - if it's during pool season, you can either relax at the hotel pool or party during the daytime at the various pool parties. If it's off-season, people... do... other things? Like recover? If it's not too cool in the off-season, I like to out to desert or Red Rock, get away from the noise, bells, lights, etc for a bit.

3.) What should i wear to the clubs? (Im a guy) Will i get denied from a club if i'm wearing jeans? Should i strictly stick to dress pants, dress shoes, and a dress shirt? Can i get in with khaki pants or do my pants have to be black dress pants?
No, you can wear jeans, khakis, dress pants... The "standard" is dress shirt, jeans, and dress shoes. But you can certainly class it up (suit, vest, etc) or class it down (t-shirt w/blazer, chucks, etc) [though, classing it down at certain establishments might make it harder to gain entry without bottle service]. Just don't rock the jhorts and fanny packs.

4.) How much do you normally tip the bartenders in vegas?
Some people tip $1-$5 per drink... Some people like to give a big tip upfront so that the bartender remembers you the next time for continued service...

5.) Will a group of 4 guys (no girls) have trouble getting into clubs? How long should we expect to wait in line?
Depends on the club, depends on the dates - obviously a tier 1 club you'll be waiting... a tier 1 club on a holiday weekend, you'll be really waiting. If you choose not to get bottle service, your options would be to either get there early to get ahead of the line OR grease (tip the hosts) your way in.

Thanks for your help! I know these might be pretty stupid questions but like i said, I am new and am not sure what to expect. We'll be in vegas in early July.
No question's stupid! Just be sure to utilize the search function to see if others have expanded on your queries first next time!
