Friend of a friend is a 3rd party VIP Host

I know a lot of people here recommend against 3rd party hosts, but is that because they don't have much pull at the clubs or because they don't provide good service?

I'm planning a bachelor party for next year and one of the guys has a friend who is a 3rd party host. I haven't contacted him yet but I was wondering what people here think. Will the service be better since he's a friend, or does that not have anything to do with it if he doesn't have any pull at the properties?

We're trying to decide between Vegas and Montreal, and if we do Vegas we're going to need a good host or two since the wolfpack will be about 15 deep.

I was in Vegas two years ago and knew nothing about JC or Vegas before I went. I got in touch with a guy at Lavish Las Vegas and he set everything up for my group (only 4 guys admittedly). Everything was perfect, he took care of all the necessary arrangements that I didn't even know about - handshakes, minimums etc - and that really allowed me to enjoy my time hassle free.

This time I'm going with 7 guys and through this site, I'm giving it a shot on my own. So far all the hosts have been really helpful and I'm only one night away from having everything planned. Whether we'll have a better time or not is irrelevant - I'll feel more satisfaction that it was my doing this time...of course, the flip side to that coin is that I could end up completely blowing it and having a nightmare!

I guess what I'm saying is that if you use a reputable 3rd party, it can make your life easier and if it goes wrong there's someone else to blame. Ultimately though, with good planning and the knowledge available on the forum, you can do it all yourself just as well (hopefully better )

There are definitely good 3rd party services out there. The problem I think boils down to trust. Anyone can be one and there are a ton of them out there. You don't know if they are overcharging you, whether they really have any pull at clubs, whether they have good service, etc.

If the host is trusted - your friend vouches for him, or one of the ones JC recommends or recommended by a direct host you've worked with (or a former direct host you've worked with) then give it a shot and ask what he can do for you guys.

It also helps, in my opinion, if you're a frequent or semi-frequent visitor to the clubs you're going to, to really build a report or relationship with the host you're using. This above all else is a usual correlation between a great time and an amazing time.

Thanks everybody. Once I get in contact with this guy and find out what company he works for I'll post here and get some direct hosts opinion on the company. Supposedly the guy is a pretty good friend so I'm not worried about trusting him, I'm just worried about him thinking he has more pull than he really does. There a lot of hosts that post here and JC'ers speak highly of them, so I know I could do the legwork myself. But if this guy is in tight with some people, I'd rather have him handle it because I don't need 15 angry drunk bachelor party dudes lookin at me when we get turned away at the club!
