  • fun group dinner before tao?

we're going out to tao with 20 guys and looking for a restaurant that can seat us either in the restaurant or private dining. i looked into tao, but their prixe fixe menu is $90 and allows choice of 2 entrees. the money isn't necessarily an issue, but paying $90 and trying to accommodate 20 peoples tastes with 2 entree options doesn't sound so appealing. plus, it's a lot of money for chicken and noodles. any other good suggestions? doesn't necessarily have to be near tao, but that helps.

    thanks,
    VS

Maybe sushisamba at palazzo. i'd call them first due to size of your party.

Maggiano's across from Wynn, at the Fashion Show Mall. They can probably accomodate a group your size if you call a few weeks in advance.

It's great Italian Food, and you'll get plenty of family-style options. It'll come out to about $60 a head after 2 drinks each and tip.

If you want another option, think about doing Joe's Stone Crab & Steakhouse at the forum shoppes @ Caesars. I just set up a 33-man bachelor party there and got them to give us a flat rate of $120/head which included salad, appetizers, your own choice of entree, dessert....then 2 drinks per person, tax, and tip. It was an all-inclusive price and you couldn't beat the food.

+1 on Joe's. Top top steaks, and the best service I've ever received in any restaurant. So good, I'm happy to spend $60 on an appetizer (large claws are off the chain).
