Hi Guys,
Just wanted to drop a story about a sandwich upgrade since this stuff is always helpful to the members.
My friend and I had each booked 4 nights (Thursday through Monday) at the Venetian through an Expedia Deal. We booked regular Luxury Suites for an average of $184/night and then had an add-on option of an upgrade to a VENEZIA tower Bella Suite for an additional $1 per night.
So we were all set with 2 separate Bella Suites in the Venezia Tower, which as you all know used to be considered an upgrade but is now really a downgrade. That tower is far away from everything, the rooms are all a murky sort of yellow/gold, and they basically sit on top of the parking garage with a weird angle view.
We get to the check-in counter on Thursday around 2pm and my friend and I decide to check in together to see if we can get the rooms conjoining. I slip $50 between my credit card and license and walk up to the clerk - she was an Asian girl in her late 20's with a bubbly personality.
I let her know that we each reserved a room in the Venezia tower, but we'd really appreciate if she could bump us over to the Palazzo and give us connecting rooms with a view. She took the money out of the sandwich, slid it under her keyboard, and said "Let me see what I can do."
About a minute later, she told us we would be in conjoining rooms on the 43rd floor of the Palazzo with unobstructed views of the Wynn Golf Course and the mountains to the east.
We got up to the rooms and they were perfect - couldn't have asked for anything better. The $50 sandwich got both rooms upgraded on a busy convention weekend.
