  • cc authorisation to reserve table

    Hi,

I am looking to reserve bottle service in 2 weeks time at moon bar. I was told by the host that they would require my cc details to reserve table. Is this normal procedures?

    Thanks for any replies.

I've seen it this way before, b/c a lot of people who "reserve" bottle service end up bailing. But Moon isn't a tier one, so this surprises me. Most of the time you just show up and hand over your card. What host are you using?? Use one of the JC approved hosts.

I understand the unprofessionalism if you bail but I'm still unclear on why they would need it. Are they still planning to charge you for something?

if you don't show up they charge your card... or i've seen if you cancel they give you the $ back as "Credit that must be used within 12 months".

They charge your card for the original reservation? Damn. I'm guessing if you cancel by a certain time before you can avoid that though correct?

umm, not the one I've seen for EBC. They take a 50% of your minimum spend as a deposit.

If you cancel prior to 5 days of your reservation date, you get 100% of it as "credit". If you cancel 5-3 days in advance, you get 50% of your 50% deposit as credit. Anything after that is lost...

But i guess you can also deal with the host and hand over your card when you get there??? Maybe the "prior authorization" is to lock in a special rate you were given??

Actually it was my friend who got in touch with the host and he said if you cancel 24 hours within the booking date then there be no charge. I will try the host from jc and see what they can offer.
              Thanks
