  • Club Host question

This might be me just being paranoid but I want to know if this is common while dealing with hosts.

I emailed a host listed as a contact on this site and I received a quick email with all the info but was told that If I was interested in booking the table service, I was to text message the host directly. So I did all that and all I was required to do is just give my full name, no credit card info or anything to lock in the reservation. The host told me he would contact me the week of my stay. Is any of this normal when dealing with a host? Should I really expect the host to contact me a week before my stay?

    Thanks!
    Upcoming trip - July 8th - 11th.

Most dealings are done by text. Usually CC isn't involved, but if you really want it, you can push for a CC preauth done.

Did you confirm the deal with the host or just asked for info and txted him?
At some point you'll want to confirm something like a "yea we're on for 6 people this friday. Will you meet us there and walk us in?" etc.

The other thing, is looking at your sig, your trip is over a month away. Lots of pricing isn't really set til a couple weeks out. Could be another factor.

Oh and even if everything is good to go, we recommend periodic contact/followup with hosts, especially the week of and definite contact when you get to Vegas to sort out logistics. (where to meet, when, who to ask for if he's not around)
