  • Independent Host Tipping?

I know the subject of tipping the host has been discussed on here to death, but I'm curious to know if you go through an indepedent host do you still need to tip? Or is tip included in the price they give you? Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

Don't use an indy host. Just contact a direct host... Did you read JC.com?

Chris, yes I've been reading the boards and the site for more than a year now. However, if the indepedent host is offering a better deal than the direct host, that plays a factor to me at least. It would also be one of the independent hosts that Jack has listed on this site. That's the reason I asked about the tipping question.

I'd still use a direct host. You're far less likely to get your table bumped if someone else wants it from a direct host.

Up to you. Depends on if you think you're getting good service and also how much the fee is. If the fee is pretty high, then I'd lean towards no or very little.

Either way though, I'm sure they are expecting/hoping for a tip... .it is vegas after all

One thing to note is that Indy Hosts often build their profi/tip into whatever price they're giving you. They need to make money somehow, after all.

I'd say tipping is discretionary for those folks. You may be able to get them to be transparent and simply ask "What is my cost after all taxes, tips, fees, etc. out the door?"

Thanks Brett. You were thinking pretty much exactly what I was. I was assuming they build their tip into the cost given, but I'm sure I could just ask the question to be sure.

Also people that have used indy hosts have said they've been screwed over and the host never got them anything. DO NOT PAY UP FRONT no matter what!

Some of these Indy host companies claim to be able to get you a 'hand picked' guaranteed table at a club which won't get bumped as they do tons of business with these clubs therefore have the connects in the right places. How true is this?

I guess the key thing is to make sure you ask fir an all in price and that they be transparent as someone already said
